"Ace noted to have you adjust this section." I pointed to the paper. "But otherwise, he really enjoyed the idea. Just write something up to the best of your ability, and I'll add it to the document. If anything, he can assist you when he returns."

Jamie smiled at me. "Thanks, Cade. I've been working on this for a while. I hope he implements it."

I returned her smile. "I think you have a fantastic plan written out, and I can see how hard you worked. Ace seemed to like it based on the notes I received. You are almost at the finish line."

She smiled and went back to her desk, and I started on my notes for the day. It wasn't even close to lunch yet, and I felt it should be. I was trying to distract myself from the fact that Ace stopped responding to me last night. I knew I shouldn't be worried. Melody would have called if something was wrong. But I still hated the feeling of not hearing from him.

Ace didn't even log onto the notes this morning, though it wasn't like we had a routine for it. It was one day. Still, I missed him. Three days was far too long when I was used to seeing him every day. Last Christmas, Ace went to see his family for the holidays, and was gone for a week. But last Christmas, we weren't in a relationship.

I shook away my thoughts as James approached. Great. "Are your brothers joining us tonight?"

"I do believe I told you that Cameron wasn't around, and Carter hasn't told me whether he will be coming along or not. It's time for work, and we can discuss this over lunch. You have a deadline to meet, and you're very behind based on the reports from yesterday."

He chuckled, leaning against the desk. "And I thought you weren't here to manage us. Ace is rather fun to be around."

"And that's Ace, not me." I told him. "I'm recommending you catch up before you're fired. I've seen Ace's zero tolerance policy. You come here to work, not play around."

And yet, if Talia had approached me, I would have been more than willing to have a conversation with her. Something about this guy truly rubs me the wrong way, and I didn't know why.

"Acting like you're the boss of us when you're nothing now." And maybe I was right in my assumption. I knew I was now. "How was that fall from fame?"

"I think you need to go mind your own business."

"Just like you're attaching yourself to Ace's business?" James inquired. "You Windsor triplets seem to never learn, do you?"

I blinked. "Excuse me?"

He turned his head and gave me a once-over. "You think you're better than everyone else. It's tragic, really. Better than those who might be below you." He slammed his hands on the desk, and I jumped back in my chair. I didn't like that there weren't but a few people in this room right now. All of which were wearing headphones. "So, tell me, Cade, what is Cameron really up to?"

"Why is that your business?"

"You weren't supposed to be here, but if I need to get sloppy to get what I want, then so be it." He angled his head, moving in closer toward my face. "Cameron is my business. So, I want you to tell me what I need to know."

What the hell was happening? "My brother isn't around." I told him. Which wasn't a lie. He wasn't here. In this building. "Tell me what he's doing. Or so help me!"

Someone grabbed the back of his neck and pulled him away from me so I could breathe. "So help you fucking what?" Carter snapped. "I find it hilarious you're speaking to Ace's fiancé this way, and while I'm around, no less. Because not only is Cade my brother, but my fiancé is the CEO. And you? You just lost your job."
