It had been a week since she had seen Exceed. Emila had practically torn the overworld apart searching for him. Many of her nights ended in tears when she collapsed from exhaustion from her searching. Every part of her refused to even think that he was gone… He couldn’t be.

He’s so much stronger than that.

Stirring from her dream-less sleep, Emila looked around at her surroundings. It was a simple cave that winded further and deeper into the earth. It smelt faintly of zombies, but she wasn’t bothered. Throughout her searching, Emila had begun to ask other monsters if they had seen Exceed but all of their replies left her without anything.

Where could he have gone? Emila gave a sniffle and wiped the forming tears from her eyes. She couldn’t give up… She wouldn’t give up.

Not until she had him home.

Stepping out of her stone resting place, Emila had to squint to allow her eyes to adjust to the full moon outside. The cave was near the top of a hill, overlooking the plains her and Exceed often walked through.

Emila froze as she saw shapes in the distance beginning to come into view, meeting in the center of the biome.

A mob gathering! Maybe they’ve seen him!

Vanishing in a puff of particles, Emila opened her eyes to see a few monsters jump at her appearance. A skeleton in particular had fumbled with her bow, causing a few others to laugh before the skeleton pushed her companion that had begun the laughing.

“Well, ain’t this just a sight.” A zombie groaned behind her.

Emila turned toward the zombie, surprised that they had looked away out of respect, “I’m so sorry if I’m interrupting-”

“Nah, your like has been here before. Or maybe that was you last time.”

The enderman nodded. Her and Exceed had watched a mob gathering before. That had been the moment that Emila knew that these creatures weren’t that different from them.

The zombie grumbled something to another zombie before the second zombie gave a raspy laugh, walking toward the mingled crowd of monsters, “Lost? Or are ya going to join us?”

“I’m looking for someone. Do you know if you’ve seen him?” Emila couldn’t hold in her question any longer, speaking quickly, “He’s an enderman like me but he has bandages wrapped around his eyes and his hair is usually tied back in this small bun. He’s very shy but h-”

“Whoa whoa- Slow down there.” The zombie raised his hands to slow Emila down, “Take a breath, you’re gonna collapse if you don’t.”

Emila was shaking now, “I don’t know where he is and it's been a week, please…” She tensed as she felt a cold hand on her back.

The zombie gave a wave, “Ah, Malaysia. Wondered when you’d be here.”

Emila immediately looked down and flinched as the smell of herbs and potions filled her head. The witch patted Emila on the back, her face also turned away, “I knew enderman to be jumpy, but you’re just plain skittish.” she laughed.

It took everything in Emila to not jump at the witch. The last time she had encountered one flashed quickly in her mind. The operation table with a blood-soaked enderman, surrounded by a witch and strange villager-like heartless monsters. Her and Exceed had nearly been like that poor enderman.

The witch that the zombie had called ‘Malaysia’ took a step away, “I’m sorry for whatever that witch had done to you.” she said gently.

Emila snapped back to the present, shaking the phantom smell of blood from her senses, “How did you-”
