You stepped into the library as Clara was well into what had obviously been a lengthy lecture on dragging Endermen around in boats and pointing bows at skeletons.

Nathaniel's eyes were immediately begging for you to save him as you walked in.

"No, Nathaniel, I'm not helping you."

"(Y/n), please, she's been going for hours."

"Good."

Clara turned to you, arms folded sternly across her chest. "Did you hear what he did?!"

"I did. So did Eli."

"Who's Eli?" Nathaniel asked.

"That's Anore!" Clara and Aodh both exclaimed.

"Why does he have so many names?! Who even is he?"

You sighed. "His name is Eli-Enore. I call him Eli. The kids call him Anore."

Nathaniel raised an eyebrow. "Is there a reason you call him Alai?"

"Eli, dipstick." You folded your arms. "As in the first part of his name."

"He's (y/n)'s boyfriend!" Clara exclaimed.

"Oh?" Nathaniel grinned.

"He is not, Clara, and you know that." You shook your head before turning back to Nathaniel. "He's an Enderman I rescued. He vowed to pay back his debt, and now we're friends, and he's considered as much a member of this village as you and I."

"I got that he's an Enderman. Why did you rescue an Enderman?"

"Because."

"Is it because he looked sad and pathetic? Did he cry at you?"

"Well, yes, but no, that's not why I helped him."

"Please, please, tell me this isn't the same Enderman who was following you around the last time I came to visit."

You pursed your lips.

"(Y/n), I thought I told you to stop going for the stalker types."

"I'm not going for the stalker types! Look, it's going to take a lot of explaining, so just sit down and shut up!"

"I am sitting. I have been sitting. For hours as Clara keeps going on and on about some Anore and Lynovu."

You rolled your eyes. "Look, I'm very upset because that Enderman you attacked was a friend of mine."

"Wait, was that Eli?"

"No, his name is Elan. He's Eli's friend."

"So now we're just befriending all the Endermen."

"If it comes to that, they're actually quite nice."

"I'm not tracking, (Y/n)."

"Well then, shut up and I'll explain."

"Then start explaining." Nathaniel leaned back.

You sighed and massaged your forehead. "Okay, long story short, Eli could look in my eyes without becoming aggressive, meaning we were soulmates. While he was trying to figure this out, he got in a fight and got injured, he asked me for help and so I helped him. He decided he needed to repay me, so he tried to teach me how to survive."

Nathaniel snorted. "Did you tell him you're a lost cause? Because I've already tried teaching you."

"Shut it." You sighed. "We've been on quite a few adventures since then, most of which are not mine to tell, and we've become good friends since then. Our deal...changed...a little bit. I show him what it's like to be loved, and in return, he doesn't have to repay his debt and can leave anytime he wants."
