Cassia stared up at the ceiling, she'd snuck out countless times but now with one of her grandfathers lackeys on her trail, she'd have to be more creative.Regulus would only be alerted if movement in her room was detected, so she would need something of equal weight to her to remain still in the room. And then she'd have to not touch the floor until she was outside of the room, and on her way to the underground storerooms. That's where the Jabberjays were. If there were any.
But what item would have exactly the same weight as her? Then it hit her, one of her styling bodies. Smiling, she hurried into her closet and picked the styling body off the shelf, after she added some clothes it could definitely pass as her weight. Then, she changed into a more inconspicuous outfit, black jacket with a hood, black jeans and black boots. So she placed it in the bed then, she had to figure out how to get out without touching the floor.
Cassia looked up, there were several lighting fixtures along the ceiling, were strong enough to support her weight? Surely, they had to be... Taking a deep breath, she jumped up, clinging onto the light, expecting to fall. But she didn't.
"Yes!" She whispered to herself and began swinging across from fixture to fixture, before she eventually reached the windowsill. She could've taken the balcony route, but she didn't trust that there hadn't been censors installed there. So, now, all she had to do, was jump from the windowsill to the large oak tree that wasn't too far away. Cassia took another deep breath before she made the jump, as she did she held her breath, not want to open her eyes. But when she did open them, she was safely stood on a tree branch. Sighing, she held onto to it as tightly as she could as she wove around the tree and began to jump between them until she made it over the wall and into the streets of the Capitol.
As she made it into the streets of the Capitol, she placed the hood over her head and began walking toward where the store was. Cassia snuck through every street, keeping her head down, the last thing she needed was to be recognised.
There were parties raging around her, it was the Capitol after all. Her pace increased as she walked through the bar area of town, this was an area she never went to and didn't want to be in. Especially at night. A few drunken men called slurred words at her, but she ignored them and kept going until she reached the store.
The code was easy, she'd known it since she was twelve. Once she entered, she just walked through, sneaking through the corridors to the underground section. Following the maze, she made it to the rooms with the Jabberjays.
Smiling, she picked one up and recorded the message, taking care to make it vague if it was intercepted.
"It's me. Are you alright? Please reply... I hope you're okay" she decided to just record that, if it worked she could record some longer messages, she programmed the delivery coordinates and held onto the bird as she snuck back out and released the bird into the air.
Now, all she had to do was make it back to the manor, unnoticed. Her journey back had little to no obstacles until,....
"Hey pretty lady? Why you walking around with that hood over your head?" Whoever this guy was he was wasted, clearly. Cassia shook it off and kept walking, trying to ignore him. "Oh come on! I just wanna talk..." his words were slurred, Cassia just kept walking. When he grabbed her wrist, that's when she reacted, she raised her leg and kicked him away, where she knew it would hurt the most. "You bit...." He started, but her hood had fallen down in the altercation, he stared and her wide eyed. "I... Miss Snow.... Please forgive me....I..." he rambled, words slightly less slurred.
"Save it, you're lucky I'm feeling kind tonight, do not continue this kind of behaviour toward any woman or my kindness will disappear, that is a promise" she snapped, a glare on her face, the man nodded and hurried inside, with her cover blown, it wouldn't be long until her absence from her room was reported, so she hurried all the way back.
