Where the hell is he? William thought to himself, sighing heavily. He slumped over the second-floor banister, huffing in irritation. It was three in the damn morning—where in bloody hell was Michael? And why wasn't he home yet? He should've been home hours ago!
Hours passed. So many hours that William eventually fell asleep, his arms and head draped over the banister. It wasn't until someone started to gently shake him that he woke up, his arms numb and tingly.
"Will?" Henry's voice said, shaking him again before carefully unhooking his arms from the banister.
'"Mmnh... What?" he mumbled, yawning as his eyes fluttered open.
Henry chuckled. "What the hell happened that led you to sleeping while dangling from the banister?" he asked as he gently helped William onto his feet. "Oh, damn, your hair is a mess," he said as he snickered.
"Oh, shut up and help me tie it into a bun. My arms are still asleep," he grumbled, weakly shaking his arms in an attempt to get them to wake up.
Henry laughed and grabbed William's shoulders, turning him around to put his hair in a bun. "So, are you gonna answer my question or not?"
"Sorry, what question?" he mumbled as he dragged a numb hand down his face, yawning again.
"Why were you asleep and dangling over the banister?"
He sighed. "I was waiting for Michael to come home," he muttered. "Knowing him, I thought he'd be home before curfew, but he never arrived."
"Weird. Why wasn't he home, to begin with?"
He groaned. "I don't want to talk about it."
"That bad?"
He nodded, pinching the bridge of his nose. "Yesterday was not like anything I had planned."
"Oh... I'm sorry, Willy, that sucks," Henry said, nudging William's shoulder to let him know he could turn around.
"My name isn't Willy!" he exclaimed, then sighed heavily. "You drive me insane, Henry."
Henry just shrugged and kissed his cheek before stepping down onto the first step. "I'm gonna go make breakfast," he said with a childish grin, then went downstairs. "Whenever you're done sulking about whatever happened, feel free to join me!"
