LIFE
Life is full of surprises,
Life is full of experiences.
Life teaches us lessons,
Life makes our emotions.
Life comes from within,
Life gives us reason to grin.
Life is so wonderful,
Life is full of pleasure
Life is something to enjoy,
Life is not just like a toy.
I want to live my life,
I want to enjoy the rest of my life.
To live like this is such a magic,
To live like this is to be free from being freak.
I will always treasure my existence,
For as long as I have my senses.
Alice Christine Collin
I could feel the burning heat of the sun. Another day under this ball of fire for my training in volleyball. Two more weeks and the College Games would be on my way. Together with me practicing were my teammates and friends, and one of the closest, was Jess.
“Alice your turn!” I heard Mica shouted and before the ball could hit me, I gave a nice spike to give the ball back to the opposite court.
“Nice spike Alice!” I gave a trivial smile to my very supportive and active Coach Dianne.
Yeah that’s my name, Alice Christine Collin, to be exact. Twenty years of age. Senior year in college. Where I was studying? Right at Warner Academy.
I’d been part of the varsity team since I was freshmen and I was already a senior student, thank God I was still part of the varsity team. I was not an athlete actually, instead a frustrated writer. However my brother Carlo was a varsity in the same academy where I was studying and my parents were expecting me to be the same as my brother, my twin brother.
Five minutes more before break time, I was really tired and I really wanted to relax myself. The burning heat was starting to dehydrate me. We’d been practicing for almost three and a half hours, and I could hear my heart pumping so fast as my breathing. The game continued and after a moment Coach Dianne announced, “Ladies break time, have a rest and we’ll be having lunch in a minute.”
The team ran to the bleacher and got their own bottle of water. I looked for my cellphone inside my bag, expecting and hoping that I’ll receive the message I’d been waiting for almost a week.
“Oh oh... No message.” Jess said and chuckled. I just ignored her and returned the cellphone inside the pocket of my bag.
“Boy like him isn’t a big lost. Alice come on, open your eyes, he better get out of your life. He’s worthless.”
Jess wasn’t that bad at all anyway; she just didn’t like Matt for me ever since she met him. For her, Matt was my exact opposite. Alright my boyfriend (lover)’s name is Matt, Matthew Miller. But after our fight a week ago, he hadn’t texted me yet I tried to call him but he wasn’t answering any of them. We’d been together for almost a year and I guessed it was really over. I admit it, I loved Matt and I almost let my life turned around him in that entire extent of our relationship. Actually, he was not a boyfriend material, he was not like any other boyfriend I saw with my friends, he was selfish, he was immature, he was braggart, he was insensitive, and he was careless! Yes I was describing my boyfriend, oh my ex- boyfriend as of now. Now think a reason why I fell in love with this kind of guy. Well, I guessed that’s really how love goes, I believed “LOVE IS BLIND.” J
