Alice Christine Collin
I woke up very early, I couldn’t sleep, my mind was already awake and it keeps on thinking. I went out of the bed and looked at the clock hanged on the wall of my room. It’s just five in the morning. I should be sleeping until six –thirty, but I couldn’t. I went to the shower room and took my shower. I was still out of this world and I couldn’t find myself. When I was done, I looked for my clothes in my closet. It’s too early to wear my uniform so I just wore my shorts and T- shirt. When I went to the kitchen, Charlotte was already there.
“Alice, you want me to make you hot chocolate?” She seemed confused about me waking up too early. “Why did you wake up too early?” See that? Cause I was really not an early riser person.
“I can’t sleep so I just get out of my bed. What are you doing?”
“I’m cooking your breakfast. Ham, hotdogs and eggs. I’ll toast the bread after. I should toast it later but since you’re already here I’ll do it after these dishes.”
I took a seat and watched her cooking. Charlotte was my father’s maid ever since and became our personal maid when mom and dad got married and transferred their home.
“Is there something you want to share?” She said in a low voice. I didn’t know what to answer since I really don’t know if there was something I must share to her.
“Is this about Matt?” She asked again. Matt? No, of course not. Matt and I were doing good all along.
“It’s not about Matt.”
“Then what is it? Alice, you can’t hide anything from me, I’ve known you for so long.”
Why does she keep on insisting that there was something I had to share to here? I said it’s not about Matt and she kept on asking. What’s wrong with her?
“I said there is nothing I have to share to you why do you keep on insisting. Can’t you just focus on your stuff and stop asking me?” My voice became higher. I didn’t know why. I felt sorry for what I’ve said.
“I’m sorry, Charlotte. I didn’t mean to say that.” I went out of the kitchen and went back to my room.
I was feeling something strange. Everything around me seemed unusual. Matt was not coming to school for the past few days again, though he keep on calling me and sending me messages. He just told me he have some stuffs to make and he will be back to school as soon as he finished it then Ben was acting weird too. He was being quiet, when I was asking him what his problem was he just keep on saying nothing. What the heck was happening in this wide world? Can somebody explain to me please?
I was on my way to my class and I noticed something strange again. I thought this strange thing was just inside my head, but no. I was wrong. Every student in the corridor was looking at me as if I did a crime. I was wondering what was wrong with them. Then Jess came and walked to me so fast. Her face seemed upset.
“Jess, what’s going on? Did I do something wrong? They are all looking at me so bad.” I wanted to think that there was something I must be surprised of, just like what Matt did before on my Journalism class. But this time Jess was not with me, she was from the class room and she looked at me with a frustrated face.
