“How is Alice doing?” Mom was with me. We’re on our way to her school. I didn’t know what happened to her car. Maybe it’s broken again.
“She’s getting worse.” I replied.
“Too bad for her. Oh! Wait! Stop the car on the cathedral.” I parked the car and she went out.
“Mom, where are you going? You’ll be late.” She continued walking until she reached the gate of the cathedral. I wanted to leave her ‘cause I’ll be late on my work, but instead of walking away, I followed her inside the church. There were several people inside. I saw Mom knelled on the seat at the back part of the cathedral. I went to her side and kneeled too.
There’s one person I’d like to offer a prayer. She needed it badly. Hoping He would listen to me, I started talking to him with my heart and mind.
God Almighty, can I ask you something? This is not for me, this is for the most important friend in my life. She’s in the middle of despair right now. She’s getting worse every day and I can’t bear the pain on her eyes. God, will you save her? Will you ease the pain she’s feeling right now? Please. I don’t know how can I help her, but sure you do. She wants to live longer. She wants her happiness. Please, Lord. Save her.
I didn’t even know if He would grant my prayer. But it’s not for me. It’s for Alice. I want her to be happy. And sure someone above would like too.
When I opened my eyes, Mom was not on my side anymore. I looked roughly but she’s not around. I strode back on the place where I parked on my sedan. I was about to enter on my car when I heard someone called my name from behind.
I saw him walking to where I was. His face was still distress like the last time I saw him, that was two days ago.
“Hey, Ben.”
“Matt, you need something?”
“Someone to talk to.” He said as he shrugged his shoulder.
He believed that I didn’t know anything about Alice and where she was. I didn’t know if I would like to talk to him. He’s the chap who will take away Alice from me when she lives. But refusing him would be a bad action. I thought he really needs someone to talk to.
“Sure. Get in.”
