I am a ball of sunshine.
But you want to keep me in the shadows.
Maybe that's why I can't love you
in the dark.
I deserve to feel all the spark–
without doubt and without hiding just to meet you in the park.

I am a ball of sunshine.
Perhaps to you that is a problem.
We're not a perfect tandem.
And it's like you are my own dose of caffeine.
How can you inflict me such
waking pain?

I am a ball of sunshine.
But to you, I am just a firefly
in the night.
You have given me such low value.
Why can't I ever choose to leave you?

I thought I was a ball of sunshine.
Yet you pierced the light in my soul.
My effusive rays you stole.
