"Blow out your candles, Mikey"
Michelangelo closes his eyes, makes a wish, and blows his candles.
Around the table stands his Father, Yoshi, his brothers, Leonardo, Raphael, and Donatello, His uncle Saki, and his cousin Karai. April and her dad are also there since Mikey wanted them to celebrate his birthday with him.
It's his first birthday celebration with his biological family.
For the first twelve years of his life, he celebrated his birthday with who he believed to be his mother. But now, for his 13th birthday, he's celebrating it with his found family.
As the cake is being cut and passed, Mikey thinks about what has happened after the day at the hospital.
He was able to be with the hospital family.
Improved in school with some help.
Started training with the others.
Even April joined in on the training.
Michelangelo has been going to the skatepark more with his brothers when they can.
Yoshi has also been telling him stories about his mother, Shen, who unfortunately passed away.
Mikey has seen pictures and videos of her, wishing he could've met her.
"Hey, Mikey, you okay?"
Michelangelo looks up to see it was Raph who asked the question.
"All good, bro. Just thinking of the last couple of months. And happy to be home" he responded.
"We're happy to have you home as well, Mikey. Now come on, goofball. Eat your cake so you can open your presents" Raph says.
Mikey smiles widely and takes a bit of his birthday cake.
