Ash slowly walked over to her bed and threw herself onto it, taking off her mask. Peter sat on the ground and did the same. This was the first time they got a good look at each other.
Ash had her fairly long brown hair in a low ponytail. She let her hair down, and it fell in beautiful, messy waves. Her skin was perfectly clear, apart from the faint freckles that dotted across her cheeks and nose. She had heterochromia, though it didn't look natural. One of her eyes was a hazel colour with golden flecks in it, the other was an electric yellow colour. Peter noticed that she was identical to the girl who had also gotten the internship, apart from the eye, of course.
"So... Ash, right?"
"Yep. Peter?"
"The one and only!"
Peter had brown, slightly curly hair, along with deep brown eyes. His eyes were softly shaped and beautiful. His hair was messy as it blew around in the slight wind. Ash looked at him and realised how beautiful he was. She wondered how she hadn't noticed before.
"You know how we both got that internship thing, right?" Peter asked, pulling her out of her thoughts.
"Yeah?"
"When does it start?"
Ash thought for a moment before answering, "Tomorrow."
Peter yawned, and Ash looked at the time. 11pm.
"We should probably get some sleep Peter, it's 11pm. You can have the bed, I'll sleep on the floor tonight."
Peter gasped. "I'm not letting you sleep on the floor! I'll sleep on the floor!"
"Oh hell no. You will not be sleeping on the floor."
"But I don't want you sleeping on the floor either!"
Ash thought for a moment, "How about we both sleep on the bed then? It should fit both of us."
"Okay!"
They both changed out of their suits, Peter having to wear some of Ash's clothes because he didn't have any to wear. Ash laughed at him for a bit before they both laid down on the surprisingly comfortable bed. They were squished together because it was only a single bed, but they both still slept well.

In the morning, Peter borrowed some more of Ash's clothes, though Ash dressed similarly to him, only long sleeved shirts instead of science pun t-shirts. Peter pulled on a pair of jeans and a black long sleeved shirt, which was slightly tight on him. Ash wore a pair of cargo pants and a white long sleeved shirt with a grey zip-up hoodie.
"If anyone makes fun of you, I will electrocute them, I promise," Ash reassured him with a smile.
"Thanks, Ash." They smiled at each other and sprinted to school so they wouldn't be late. When they arrived as the bell went to signal the start of school, everyone stared at them, and Ash and Peter sat next to each other. During class, they whispered to each other about upgrades they could make on their suits, some of their favourite scientists, and things they'd coded. In the middle of their 2nd class, the teacher came up to them.
"Care to share what you two are whispering about?"
Neither of them liked the teacher. He was an old man called Mr. Locke. He was very strict and always gave them mounds of homework. It wasn't a challenge for either of them, but it was still boring.
Peter stayed silent, leaving Ash to do the talking. "No, we don't. If we did, it would reveal New York's biggest secret," Ash responded as she did some overdramatic arm movements.
The class chuckled, assuming she was joking, but she wasn't. Mr. Locke didn't look amused. "Say what you were talking about or you have a detention during lunch," he warned.
Ash smirked. "Well, since we already have detention, I might as well do this," She flipped him off and laughed. "Well come on then Peter, I believe it's time we go."
Ash grabbed Peter by his hand, and they ran out of the room, and Ash led Peter around the back of the building.
"I've got a fun thing we can do, come on!" She suggested and let go of his hand as she webbed up onto the roof of the school. They stayed there until the end of class, then started to head to their next lesson. On the way, they ran into Flash.
"It's weirdo one and weirdo two! What are you wearing?" Flash laughed, and Peter looked at the ground. He couldn't do anything because everyone thought he was weak. Ash wasn't going to let Flash treat Peter like that. She threw a punch at Flash, and it hit him directly on the nose.
"How does it feel to be weak, Flash?" She threw another punch. It hit him in the stomach and knocked him to the ground, "Never talk about Peter like that again, or you won't live to see tomorrow."
She turned around and walked towards Peter. She wasn't wasting anymore time on Flash.
Flash got up and kicked her in the back. It sent her to the ground. Before she could get up, Flash taunted, "You know, you look like even more of a freak with that yellow eye."
Shit. I forgot to put my contacts in. Ash's breathing quickened, and she ran. She ran and ran and ran. No one could know about what happened to her at HYDRA. They'd figure out she was Electrachnid. She ran to the back of the school and Peter swiftly ran after her, after he yelled at Flash.
Peter sat down next to her and held her close. He knew she was having a PTSD episode, and he also knew it was about how she got her powers because it was clear that her eye was related to her powers.
He sat there with her and hugged her. He wasn't sure how to help, but he hoped that being there with her was enough.
