I'm back!! I first wanted to say how thankful I am for getting 1000 reads. It means soo much to me and has been a dream of mine for a long time. I am very grateful for all the support!
This story takes place after the whole Zygerria incident. It does contain mentions of assault and all that stuff, so just a heads up. Anyways, enjoy!
After Zygerria things were intense.
The medbay was overwhelmed with weak and malnourished Torgurtas, Obi-Wan and Rex were submerged in bacta and Ahsoka... Well she was pestering him to go see Kix.
"He's busy, Ahsoka." Anakin said, pushing his way through the crowds of clones in the hangar. "I can go see him later."
Ahsoka didn't seem convinced. "You always say that master but, you never go."
Anakin ran a hand through his dirty hair. "If you're making me go then you have to too."
"But I'm not-
"Yes you are, Ahsoka. I've seen the way you favor your left side and the burns on your shoulders from spending days in the sun, oh and the blisters on your neck from the collar." The Knight said, wincing slightly. It was technically his fault she was ever hurt to begin with.
Maybe if he would have pushed the Queen off of his body and gone to help Ahsoka...
No. Don't think about that, people need you right now and you can't think about her. Even if your legs are weak and your hips hurt with every twist. Even if your lips are swollen and your chest and back have bright red scratches tracing them down.
You can't think about it. Just brush it off, Anakin.
"Master, you okay?" Ahsoka asked, grabbing his wrist through the crowd. "You spaced out there for a second."
Anakin tensed and shook Ahsoka off his wrist.
The same wrist the Queen used to pin him down.
"I'm fine, Snips." He said, still pushing through the crowd. "I'm just tired."
"Well then maybe you should let Kix look at you." She argued back, nipping at his heels behind him.
"Enough Ashoka. I'll go when he's free."
"But master-
Anakin sharply turned around and looked Ahsoka in the eyes. "You need to stop worrying about me, Snips. It's my job to worry about you, not the other way around."
Ahsoka hummed in defeat. "I'm sorry master."
"Hey, it's ok." He said, reaching a hand out to hold her cheek but then quickly pulled it away. Physical contact would only make things worse.
"But after?" She asked, looking up to meet his gaze. "You promise to go?"
"Only if you're going too."
"Deal."
Anakin smirked and took off again through the crowd. As much as he didn't want to see Kix, he knew he couldn't avoid the over-protective medic. And besides, it was the only way to get Ahsoka to go as well. She was, if not more than him, very stubborn.
As long as Kix didn't touch him then he'd be fine.
Kriff. How was he supposed to avoid that?
*******************
Anakin drummed his fingers nervously against his knee, he had always hated the medbay but now- especially now- all he wanted to do was run away. Ahsoka sat beside him on an identical white plastic chair, twisting her fingers around her padawan chain. He could feel the nervous waves wavering from her aura and he had no doubt he was sending out the same feelings.
But unlike Ahsoka, Anakin was afraid of what Kix would find. Even he didn't know everything that laid beneath his tunic and trousers. He didn't even want to know. The Knight shivered at the thought, what had the Queen done to him while he was asleep? Did the Queen even do anything?
He was jostled out of his thoughts as he felt a familiar presence fill the small hallway.
"General. Commander." Kix said, nodding at each of them in acknowledgment. "Who would like to go first?"
Anakin tensed. Kriff, there was no way he could go first.
"Ahsoka will." Anakin replied quickly, pointing a thumb to his padawan sitting beside him.
Kix scrunched his brows together in confusion. "Are you sure, sir?
"Um yes, why wouldn't I be?" Anakin asked, a nervous ball growing in his gut. What did Kix know? Has someone told him? Has someone found out?
Kix opened his mouth to respond but Ahsoka quickly cut him off.
"It's ok, Kix I'll go."
Anakin breathed a sigh of relief.
"Alright then Commander, follow me." The medic said, waving a hand at the Torgurtan Jedi.
Ahsoka glanced back at Anakin and raised a brow. Washing over subtle waves of "are you okay?" And, "is something wrong?"
The Knight didn't respond in words, instead wavering her off with Kix from a flick of his wrist. Ahsoka sighed but didn't argue. She knew he'd eventually open up to her- he always did.
Anakin's Sabacc face and tight mental shields could fool others, but never her.
************************
Anakin sat in the white plastic chair for what seemed like hours. His head was pounding with all the possible scenarios about what could happen with Kix. Plus, his anxiety wasn't helping. Why was Kix taking so long patching up Ahsoka? Was she more hurt then she'd let on?
The Jedi slipped off his flesh hand's leather glove and brought his rough nails to his mouth. Chewing on his nails was an awful habit he picked up from his mother. He could still remember the foul smelling polish she used to pick up from the store, in hopes of quitting. The nail polish wasn't even real anyways, probably just a mixture of vinegar and dye.
Besides, how could a slave buy something as rich as nail polish?
Anakin grimaced at the thought. Thinking about his childhood in chains wasn't going to help his current situation. In fact, it would probably only make it worse.
"General, I'm ready for you."
The Knight tensed, his mind whirring back to reality. He couldn't do this. He can't do this.
"Is Ahsoka okay?" Anakin asked, standing up from the hard white chair.
Kix nodded. "Everything's alright, sir."
Anakin exhaled in relief. Everything was okay. Ahsoka was okay. But he...
He wasn't okay.
"Sir?" Kix asked, walking closer to the frozen Jedi. "Is something wrong?"
Anakin flinched back into reality. "What? Oh, everything's fine."
"Let's head back to the medbay then. I'll even get you a room next to the Commander."
"Thanks, Kix."
Kix walked out the small door, making his way towards the bleached white walls of the medbay. Anakin froze again in his tracks. There was no avoiding this. There was no way he could go through a whole kriffing medical checkup without Kix figuring something out.
The medic would find out and Anakin would be devastated. But maybe that would be okay. Maybe he needed someone to know, someone to help him. But he was so afraid. Anakin was afraid of knowing what actually had happened to him that night.
He was so kriffing scared.
I hope you enjoyed this story! I really liked how it dove deeper into Anakin's thoughts and his experiences in Zygerria. I'm thinking about making a Zygerria series and I'm also making a part two to this story. I wish everyone a very merry Christmas!!
-Kat :)
