Sugar and Sharlet stood in front of each other, doing nothing but staring.
"Sharlet," said Sugar quietly, "I know that you know what you have to do now." Her tone was pained and strained, as if it hurt her to speak.
"I'm not doing anything. I'm going to make sure we both live, no matter what I have to do," she said lowly.
"I'm not going to make it. I can't make it. I should've never met you; I knew this was going to happen eventually. I shouldn't have given you false hope," she whispered.
"Meeting you was the best thing that ever happened to me, Sugar." Sharlet wiped her tears off of her cheeks.
Sugar sighed and stared at the ground, "Listen, Sharlet. This has been fun and all, but things happen that neither of us can control." She stared up at her with a pained expression.
Sharlet shook her head, "I can help you, Sugar. I won't let you die." She took her hands in her own, holding them tightly. Sugar lowered her head, crying out in pain. Her headache was splitting, and her body ached from the force of the entity growing inside of her.
"Sharlet, please, you need to go before I-" Her eyes shot open, her pupils dilating. She sputtered out blood onto Sharlet, letting go of her hands. Her pink eyes turned fully black, her pupils almost taking up the whole whites of her eyes.
She swung her arm, scratching Sharlet once again. Sharlet brought her hand up to her forearm, the place where she got hit. She wiped the blood off and tried to ignore the stinging pain in her arm and back. What hurt the most was the fact that she'll have to fight the one person, the one person that keeps her going every day. Sugar raised her hands high into the air, a billow of a black substance rose with her hands. She sent it flying towards Sharlet, but she ducked just in time. She said a spell, an abundance of water fell onto Sugar. This didn't hurt her, instead made her angrier. She pointed her weapon at Sharlet and pulled the trigger. It hit her leg, causing her to stumble forwards. She put weight on her other leg to keep from straining the injured one. She ran at Sugar and tried to wrestle the gun out of her hands. Sugar swung the weapon at Sharlet's stomach. She coughed and wheezed but pursued.
"SUGAR, YOU DON'T HAVE TO DO THIS-!" She screamed. Sugar didn't answer, she only continued to fight Sharlet. Sharlet remembered what she said.
"The only way to get rid of me is to delete Sugar Madness."
She had no idea how to do that, so what other option was there? She also remembered another thing that she had told her.
"While getting rid of the demon is impossible, there is a way to get it out of me. Though, it will result in my mortal body being killed. If this happens, I'll be transported back to Sugar Madness as if nothing ever happened."
Sharlet nodded. She knew what she had to do now. It pained her to do it, but it was the only way other than deleting her fully, which was something Sharlet did not want to do. They continued to fight, and Sharlet just continued to get injured. She didn't land a single harmful hit on Sugar as she wanted to refrain from hurting her. Though, she had to face it. She was going to have to hurt her, but it was really the only way to save her. She searched Amoura's body until she found the knife sitting on her belt. She ripped it off of her belt and held it tightly, staring at Sugar. She sniffled and got ready, trying to ignore the terrible thoughts in her head.
She ran towards Sugar and plunged the knife deep into her heart.
Ari felt himself being knocked back as the force of the explosion forced him into a wall. He groaned as his back hit the wall, his whole-body aching. All he heard was ringing and the sounds of himself breathing. He shakily brought his hands up to his pointy ears, feeling nothing but liquid. He assumed it was blood, the explosion was incredibly loud. He looked down at his already-damaged leg. If it wasn't broken before, it definitely is now. The smoke clouded his thoughts while traveling deep into his lungs. He coughed and wheezed, trying to intake some air that isn't pure smoke. He eased himself up against the wall, trying to relax his shaky muscles. All he could think about was Maverick as he blacked out.
