A LEAP OF FAITH

Chapter 41: The end of a long journey.

Sinclair eagerly transported herself into Sharlet's body, possessing her. Sharlet began to gag and choke as she twitched around erratically. Kiren watched in horror as his friend died slowly, being taken into the hands of Sinclair. He gritted his teeth and extended his arms into the air. Once Sinclair was done with the ritual, Kiren said a spell. Sharlet's body ignited in flames. Sinclair let out a scream, flailing around wildly as she experienced real pain for the first time since she became immortal. The fire casted an orange glow onto their dark surroundings. Kiren watched, his anger slowly dimming down to sadness, just like the flames dimmed down until there was nothing but Sharlet's mangled body. He crouched down next to her and whispered a goodbye prayer. He gave her a kiss on the forehead before standing up, turning to Ari and Maverick. He could already feel the effects of teleporting back to Earth. Nausea and dizziness. He didn't even have time to throw up before he fell onto the ground.

Once Kiren woke up, he was in immense pain. Battered and bloody, his arm still dripping with crimson liquid from being hit with the spear. He glanced down at Ari and Maverick, sighing heavily. He reached into his backpack and pulled out the map and one of the pens he always kept. He scribbled down a note on the back of the map before laying it down next to the two.

"I'm going to be heading back to Harmony Zeus Academy on my own. If you guys want to follow me, you can once you wake up. I want to make the journey back myself, though. The map is here if you need it, and I know my way back without it, so you don't have to worry. If you don't decide to follow me, this is goodbye. Thanks for everything, even though we didn't get along very well. I'm sorry for being mean to you guys, I hope you can forgive me. Love you guys. Signed, Kiren."

He took one last look at the two before setting off. At first, there were six of them. The hall of elements. A few came along, adding onto the team. Though, the hall of elements continued to die down until there was one. He had to watch all of his dear friends die, but he knew it was worth beating Sinclair. He didn't have to worry about it. He'd get to see his mom and classmates again. Kiren couldn't help but cry. He cried the whole way back to Harmony Zeus Academy.

When he finally made it after several days, he got a hero's welcome. Hugs from every person he saw, congratulations and thanks coming from all around him. He stood in front of the principal, covered in dried blood and wounds.

She smiled and hugged him, "Thank you, all of you. The sacrifices you children made were beyond anything that any normal person could do. You six showed the world what the hall of elements really are. Heros. You're a hero, Kiren."

He couldn't help but smile. A hero.

Kiren went on to grow up, taking the offer of being the principal of Harmony Zeus Academy. Ari and Maverick built their own village, he never looked back at SpringBrook. They got married and began living out their life together.

As for Sugar, she was back in Sugar Madness. The show began to air again... with another protagonist. Sugar introduced her wife to the show, Sharlet Seola. After Sharlet died, she had been transported to Sugar Madness to create content with her true love.

Harmony Zeus Academy had always been divided between each element. That was until six heroes of different elements banded together to save the world. This taught young elements from around the world to take chances and risks. Sometimes when in danger, you just have to conceal your fear...

And take a leap of faith.
