James sat down in a chair in an observation room for one of the test chambers as per instruction of one of the soldiers guarding him.

The man looked familiar, or so the uniform did. Gone were the E.M.P. guards and were replaced by three soldiers instead, wearing heavier gear. He remembered them from the night he first met the Foundation and the night of his capture. The only difference was that their leader didn't wear his mask. James remembered him, though. He didn't see his face the first time, but he was told he was the only God-fearing man in this facility, and he could tell by the rosary wrapped around his hand that wasn't there before.

"You know what they are going to do to her?" James asked him.

"I have an idea," Commander Payne responded.

James looked at the rosary in the soldier's hand, "Then how can you stand to let it happen?"

The soldier stood there looking out the window, "I don't know."

The response surprised James, he felt the confliction in his voice. But what reason did he have to feel conflicted? James sat there in thought. The rosary wasn't there before and maybe this man was watching them in their cell. Maybe he felt a little sympathy for them.

James thoughts were interrupted as a scientist entered through the door.

"Dr. Whitwater," Commander Payne acknowledged him.

"Commander Payne," the scientist acknowledged him back, "Why's there an SCP here?"

Commander Payne looked over to James, "I have to watch over both of these SCPs, I don't want either to leave my sight."

Dr. Whitwater looked unsatisfied with James being there but didn't want to object to the intimidating soldier, "Alright."

"Alright," the Commander smiled.

The doctor looked to the observation window, to a control panel at the base of the window. He pressed a button and spoke into a microphone on the panel, "Turn on the signal jammer."

The guard in the test chamber flicked several switches on the device and waited.

"Set the device to range-1."

The guard turned some dials on the device as another guard in the room watched him. The guard looked back to the one-way window and waited.

"Start the test."

The guard who set the device looked over to the other guard standing at Malo's side, who was sitting in a chair.

The guard took out his stun baton. Malo stared silently, looking at her reflection in the one-way window. She wished the man issuing the commands could see her face so he could see the pain she was enduring.

A violent jab hit her side before shocking her and making her muscles spasm. She went to the floor instantly, she lost the will to fight the shocks after so many tests and just took them.

James watched as the lights dimmed, he clenched his teeth. He couldn't see through the window from his sitting position in the corner of the room.

The lights went back to normal. The lights reflected off the glass along with two extra that weren't there before. James stared at them, he knew what they were.

The lights dimmed again as they applied more shocks to Malo. The dim room brightened up again except for a shadowy outline on the glass. As the lights grew brighter, the two lights in the glass grew even brighter. Everyone in the room continued to look out the window, unable to see what James saw.

"No essscape," is all the Fowler said before his form faded away.

James stood up, looking at where the Fowler was in the glass. He saw Malo being subjected to the stick tazing her.
