Slumping on my bed, my mind wandered to the events of my first week of Senior year. My once peaceful and promising senior year's turning out into a dramatic nightmare. I heaved out a sigh.
'Ano pa nga bang bago? Palagi namang ganito eh. Taon-taon na lang.'
I sighed again. But then my reverie was broken when Bryan about barged into my room.
"I should really remember to lock that freakin' door next time." I said flatly. 'This guy surely has social courtesy issues.'
He just grinned at me. One thing that's common about us being twins is that we both have the same curly blond hair. And one thing I envy about him is his blue eyes. Nakuha n'ya kay Daddy. He's a British American. Nasasaktan ako sa tuwing naaalala sya. And Bryan, his going to look exactly just like him. I smiled at him faintly, aching.
"Haven't you seen yourself in the mirror lately?" I softly asked getting up from my bed and went inside my wardrobe closet.
"Why?" He asked confused and dropped himself to my bed.
"You could use a new haircut brad. If you let your hair grow for another week, somebody's gonna ask what my sister's name is." I took my pink cotton pants and white tee.
When I got out, he was eyeing himself on my full-length mirror.
"So what brought you in my room this early?" I asked facing him.
"Mom called...," he started, "said she's not gonna make it home this month. Her leave wasn't approved and her schedule's all loaded up after just being promoted to senior executive. Said she's sorry but she'll call you next time."
I just shrugged. "There's nothing new about it anyway. I expected this." Magti-three months na kasing di nakakauwi si mommy.
His face looked all the more serious. "We both know why mom has to do this right?"
"Perfectly." I turned around. "But I do wish she wouldn't have to. With her on the other side of the planet, makes me feel no different than ...orphans." My voice trailed off. I took my towel and started for the bathroom.
"Ariella.." He softly called.
I whirled and faced him smiling now. "Don't worry brad. Okay lang ako. I don't have ill feelings for mom. It's just how I feel. Can't help it." I said quietly.
He quietly walked towards me and gave me a bear hug.
"Good. Coz I really need one right now." I said hugging him too.
He lightly rubbed my back. "I know."
"And oh! I forgot..." He said after a minute, "Vaughn called last night to check on you. Di pa ba talaga s'ya nanliligaw sa'yo?"
Itinulak ko nga. Panira ng moment eh. "Si Vaughn? Manliligaw sakin? Adik ka kuya? Magkaibigan lang kami." Naiiling kong sabi.
He scratched his chin. "Hmmm. Talaga? And I thought he likes you." He said casually.
Whaaat?!" 'Si VAUGHN may gusto sakin??' Parang nabilaukan yata ako dun.
"Well ...matagal na kayo magkaibigan and he cares a lot for you. I was thinking he likes you."
"Napakamalisyoso mo kuya.Natural magki-care yun, magkaibigan nga kami di ba?" I said. "Best friends pa nga eh."
"Malay natin. Best friends do fall for each other." He was smiling mischievously again."So how do you feel about him?" he suddenly asked cocking his eyebrows.
