It was already five in the evening nang makarating si Vaughn sa apartment niya.
'Everything has to go right tonight or everything will fall apart.'
A ring brought him out of his reverie.
"Attorney," pagbungad niya.
"Sis! Are you ready yet?! It's almost 6:30 for Christ's sake. How much time did you need to paint your face?"
I rolled my eyes for the hundredth time tonight. Bryan's been at it for an hour now and my patience is thinning out. I gave him my most pungent glare as he leaned on the doorframe. His arms crossed on his chest, looking annoyed.
Patty heaved out a sigh.
"Fine. Ten minutes more and we'll go down," I said just to pacify him. He went out with a huff and closed the door.
I went inside my closet to put on my dress and look myself over in the mirror. I wanted to wear the off-shoulder emerald green gown I wore for somebody's wedding but I changed my mind when I saw this long black velvet one-shoulder neckline dress. The fitted silhouette is fully adorned with sparkling sequins that surprisingly flatters my figure. The thigh-high leg slit finished the look. This must have been one of the dresses mom bought for me on our shopping spree in London last Christmas. I smiled. I just let my hair down in waves and kept my make-up fresh and rosy to keep it simple. I wanted flashy yet classy and simple. I didn't want to overdo it. Looking at myself now, I am satisfied.
Patty stood up and stared at me with pride as I walked out the walk-in closet. "Oh my gosh... you look so beautiful Bessy I can't..." she whispered before she gave me a hug.
I hugged her back. "You look beautiful yourself!"
She was wearing a pretty pink tulle ruffled dress because she is always that extra!
