The next day, Bessy and I sat on the hallway bench next to our homeroom.
"Di parin ako makapasok sa wifi eh, panu yan?" Patty said worriedly.
Tinatangka kasi naming mag-internet para magsearch about economics. Assignment kasi namin sa first subject na nakalimutan naming gawin kagabi. Tapos nasa kabilang wing pa ng building yung library.
Napadabog ako. "Why do we have to bother ourselves with economics in the first place. I'm not even planning to become the next female President in the country anyway." Asar!
"Economics is a social science which deals with how a society efficiently utilize scarce resources to satisfy unlimited wants and needs."
Huh?!
Sabay naman kaming napalingon ni Bessy.
He went on. "Etymologically, it means 'household management' but in retrospect it is a study of choice. A tool on analyzing the most effective and efficient option given all the other options available. Just debating right now whether surfing the internet is much faster than going to the library is a better option given the list of its consequences. Of course, you'll choose the option with the highest benefit and with the least cost. The next most likely option you've dropped is what is called opportunity cost; it's the price to pay for selecting that which you've perceived as the best option." He finished, smiling.
Whoa! Nakatulala lang yata kaming dalawa habang nakatingin sa kanya. Hong Talino!
He flashed his gorgeous smile again. "Hi. I'm Zed. I believe we're on the same class?" He said as he extended his hand to me.
I looked at it and at his smiling face again. His tall! And I'm only as tall as his ears.
Well, I shook his hand and smiled too. "Hi Zed, I'm Arrielle and this is my friend Patty and yes we're on the same class."
Patricia shook his hand with a big goofy smile on her face. "Hi, pleased to meet you."
"The pleasure is mine. So-!" he looked at me and flashed his gorgeous smile again. " -do you have your assignments now?"
Just then, he looked sooo gorgeous like James Reid!
I grinned. "Well, IF you wouldn't mind explaining it again."
.......................
"So what were the Athletic Coach's last words before he died?" Zed asked them who had gathered around his table.
"What?" they chorused. All the girls had their freakish goofy smile on their faces like Patty had.
"eheeerm-eheerm! [and in a husky voice said] 'All the JAVELINS to me, please.'"
Right then everyone in the room burst out laughing. And I don't think it was because the joke was funny, because honestly it wasn't. But we all just have to look at his face while cracking it and we couldn't help ourselves but laugh. He looks soo cute!
When I spun around to look at the door though, I saw Vaughn leaning on it with his hands in his pocket. He was staring at us.
"Hey!" I called out, walking up to him.
His eyes panned at me.
"What's happening?" he asked quietly and walked over to his chair.
"Oh nothing, Zed's just cracking out silly jokes." I said snickering while glancing at them.
He didn't say anything and I sat beside him.
"Oh!" I exclaimed, cheering up. "Makaibigan na kami ngayon. Tinuruan nya kami ni Bess sa assignment kanina. Ang cool n'ya nga eh and his funny too!"
