A few weeks later
Lucy was almost 16 weeks pregnant, but hadn't started showing yet. She had been feeling nauseous and light headed, but besides she couldn't complain much about this pregnancy. Besides chicken nuggets with sour cream Lucy didn't really have weird cravings and still enjoyed most of the food she usually ate.

This particular friday morning, her and Tim both had the day off, and decided to sleep in. Besides going out to dinner tonight with Tamara they didn't have much planned. Lucy was still asleep in Tim's arms, who was scrolling on his phone, until he slowly felt Lucy wake up. He stroked up and down her arms a couple of times before he went on to her stomach but suddenly stopped. 'Lucy' he whispered, his hand still on her stomach. Lucy groaned but didn't wake up. 'Lucy wake up' Tim said, enthusiasm prominent in his voice. Lucy groaned again and turned a little so she was on her back. 'What is it Tim' she said, voice still groggy. 'You're showing' Tim said softly. 'What?' Lucy said as she quickly sat up in the bed and removed the duvet they slept under. As she did that, you could see Lucys small, but noticeable bump appearing. She looked at it for a few seconds and then at Tim. 'I really am' she said and got closer to him. 'You are, and you're beautiful' Tim said, and put his hand on her stomach before kissing her. 'Does this mean we're gonna have to tell people now?' Lucy said, not really excited nor sad. 'What you want. I guess you can still hide this if you wear looser clothes' Tim said and kissed her hair. 'I hope I can still wear my jeans' Lucy laughed, now her own hand stroking her stomach. 'If not, you have a good excuse to shop' Tim said. 'Only if you come with me though' Lucy answered and looked at Tim hopefully. 'Sure' Tim sighed, pretending that he didn't want to go, but Lucy knew better than to believe him.

'Is this okay?' Lucy said as she pulled in the edges of the sun dress. Tim sighed and laughed before he answered. 'Lucy, you look 'okay' in everything' he said to her. 'Yeah, I know that's how you think but is the dress itself okay?' she questioned while looking in the mirror. Tim pretended like he saw the dress for the first time in that moment and analyzed it. 'The dress itself is also okay Luce' Tim said, Lucy thanking him with a smile. Lucy was still looking in the mirror when John and Bailey walked into the changing rooms. 'Hey Lucy' Bailey said before giving her a hug. John shook Tim's hand and sat down next to him. 'Also doing what you love most?' he asked with a chuckle. 'Definitely, Lucy started showing this morning and now she needs a new wardrobe' Tim laughed. 'You started showing?!' Bailey said and Lucy showed her the small baby-belly. 'How far along are you now?' Bailey asked her and both men realized they would be there at least an hour more since pregnancy talk also got involved now. After the women were finally done shopping and talking about everything pregnancy related, they decided to get a drink together. 'So Lucy, how is being a detective for now' John asked as they got their drinks. 'It's fun actually, working with Angela and Nyla is amazing and it's the next best thing to UC I think' Lucy said as she took a sip of her juice and felt Tim place his hand on her thigh. 'They don't allow you to do UC when you're pregnant?' Bailey asked. 'They do' Lucy explained. 'But it makes things way more difficult; some story's won't work out if you walk around clearly pregnant, it can be really stressful which isn't good for the baby and it's way more dangerous if you get into fights, since they will kick your baby first' Lucy added, and felt Tim stiffen at the last part. 'So since I wanna keep both of us safe, I will enjoy my new role as detective' Lucy ended with a smile and Bailey nodded in agreement. 'You know Lucy, it's crazy to me that 4,5 years ago we were both rookies, and now we're sitting here, you pregnant with who used to be your TO's baby and me engaged to a fierce firefighter, I would've probably laughed if you told me that back then' John said, making everybody laugh. 'Well, cheers to that' Bailey said.

Once Tim and Lucy got back home, they had to get ready for the dinner tonight with Tamara. Tamara was coming straight from uni so they would meet there. Tim was done and ready but Lucy still didn't know what she wanted to wear. 'Maybe I should go for the dress I bought today' she thought out loud. 'Great idea Luce, we leave in 5 minutes' Tim sighed from the living room. 'I know, I know' Lucy mumbled. Tim was almost sure they wouldn't leave on time, but Lucy surprised him this time, and not only by being punctual. She walked out of the bedroom in a long, tight dark green dress that hugged her curves perfectly. She had slightly curled hair, neutral make up and most important of all, the dress accentuated Lucy's baby bump. 'Wow' Tim said as he got off of the couch. 'You look out of this world Lucy' he said before he kissed her, and as he did that he put his hand on her stomach. 'So I guess we're not hiding anymore, are we' Tim said with a smile. 'No, we're not' Lucy said before kissing the man she loved most.
