*Camille's POV*
"Holy shit, Zayn. What do I do?" I whispered, nudging his arm. Camera flashes went off rapidly, one flash after another. I desperately clung to Zayn's hand in search of comfort and security. Paparazzi and fans were swarming the small café and snapping pictures of Zayn and I. It was surreal.
"Just smile and don't overthink it," he advised. "They're just people."
"Zayn! Who's this?!"
"Are you two dating?!"
"Over here, Zayn!"
"She's adorable!"
"Can we get an autograph?"
"Come on! Flash us a smile!"
"Look at how cute they are together!"
I blushed at some of the comments, half embarrassed and half flattered. I tried to smile through my nerves and Zayn kept a close eye on me while signing a few things and getting pictures, never once releasing his hold on my hand. He was naturally photogenic which made me feel self-conscious. I prayed that I looked somewhat decent in the pictures.
When we arrived at Zayn's car, he quickly opened the door for me and allowed me to get inside safely, earning us a chorus of "AWes!", before going around to the other side and hopping into the driver's seat himself. He was careful to pull out of the parking lot, being extra sure not to hit any of the people surrounding the and shop. I waved at some of the girls and half of them nearly fainted. I'd never possessed this kind of power before. It was very satisfying and very amusing.
"Are you okay?" Zayn asked me after successfully pulling out of the café's lot. I giggled and nodded. "I actually thought we'd be pretty safe today since it was such a small restaurant, but I guess I can't really hide from them no matter where I go."
"It was definitely weird for me," I admitted. "I've never had people swarming me like that."
He smiled. "Yeah, it's definitely a lot to get used to." After a good moment of silence, I felt a burst of confidence and reached forward to turn on the radio. Somebody That I Used to Know by Gotye was ending and Demi Lovato's song, Heart Attack, came to an abrupt start. Without thinking, I started singing the song. Zayn laughed and I shot him a look as he continued driving towards the studio.
"I THINK I'D HAVE A HEART ATTACK!" I finished. Right afterwards Locked Out of Heaven by Bruno Mars came on. I turned up the volume and we started to sing along. Once the chorus began we were both obnoxiously singing loud and proud.
"'CAUSE YOU MAKE ME FEEL LIKE, I'VE BEEN LOCKED OUT OF HEAVEN, FOR TOO LOOOOONG, FOR TOO LOOOOONG!" I started laughing, but Zayn kept belting out the lyrics. We pulled into the driveway of the studio and he parked his car. He waited for the song to end before turning off the car because we were having such a great time singing along to it. Once it finished, Zayn pulled his car keys out and we sat in silence.
Zayn turned to face me. "So, did you have a decent time?" he asked.
I beamed at him. "Yes! How about you?"
"I did, too." He offered me a soft smile and I returned it. "So, about tonight..." he trailed off.
"Yes?"
"Would you like me to pick you up later at your apartment or do you want to stay here and sit for the next four hours to come?" He laughed at himself. "I can ask my driver, Leland, if he could take you home."
