*Camille POV*
"How about this store?" Waliyha offered already walking towards the doors.
I nodded. "Sure, let's go." The four of us stepped inside and split up like we'd done routinely throughout the day; Safaa and Waliyha together and then me and Doniya together. While Zayn and his mum planned on going out to lunch this afternoon, his sisters invited me on a shopping trip consisting of the three of them and I. Of course I accepted, so now the girls and I were spending time at the mall. Zayn gave each of his sisters some money to spend as a gift for not seeing them in so long. It was also the last day of our visit to Bradford so we were going to make the most of it.
Doniya and I passed racks and racks of clothes as we walked around the store. "So I'm guessing you go to university, right?" she asked, pulling a shirt from a hanger to see it more clearly.
"Yeah, I'm a student at Oxford," I said.
"Oh, really? What are you studying?" She seemed intrigued so I carried on.
"Well, right now I'm studying business and law, but I'm going to change my major to journalism. I'm still going to go to to Oxford, but I'm planning on switching programs."
"But isn't the school year almost over? How are you going to change it now?"
I continued to poke through the seemingly endless collections of clothes and took a deep breath. "Well, here's the thing... I've applied for a job in America as a writer for a TV show, and if I end up getting the job, I'm going to have to move there. The problem with that is I can't be in school here and move to the other side of the world. I'm planning on dropping out for the rest of this school year and then going back in the fall as a student in the journalism program, unless I get the job in America."
"Does Zayn know about that?" she wondered.
"Some of it..." I hesitated.
"What doesn't he know?"
I turned my eyes up to meet hers. "He knows I've applied for a job in America and that I'm probably going to get the job, but he doesn't know that I'm dropping out before school ends this year, regardless of how my job opportunity goes."
"When are you going to do it?"
I turned away and bit the inside of my cheek nervously. "I already have," I spoke quietly.
"Wait, what? When?"
I inhaled a sharp breath. "Yesterday. I talked to the school and explained the situation. They said I'd be crazy to not accept the opportunity if it presents itself, and that if things don't work out they'd be happy to have me back at the school."
Doniya breathed out a sigh. "To be honest, I think you'd be crazy to not take it too. When are you gonna tell Zayn?"
"I wanted to tell him yesterday, but if I had told him and he was upset, I would've ruined his last day here. It's safer if I tell him tonight."
She released a quick laugh. "I don't think he could ever be upset with you. He thinks you're a gift from God himself."
I turned my head to hide my obvious blush. "Well, just in case he does, it's better that he finds out today rather than yesterday." I picked up a red cardigan in my size and threw it over my arm.
"Zayn likes it when you wear red," Doniya confessed with a small smile.
I squinted. "Does he really? How do you know?"
"He tells me everything. I probably know more about you than you would think."
I giggled. "Do I wanna know how much?"
