*Camille's POV*

Identification? Check. Purse? Check. Phone? Check. I looked in the mirror one last time and smiled at my reflection. Smile? Check.

My hair that now came up to my shoulders made me look like a completely different person, but I couldn't get enough of it. My eyes sparkled with excitement and my smile had not yet faltered since I'd woken up this morning. Anxiety courses through my veins at a hundred miles per second at the thought of what was soon to be my first day at my new job. I had no idea how it would play out, but I was eager to get to the studio.

A text from my phone startled me. It was from Mason, saying he was waiting downstairs in the lobby for me. My heart pulsed erratically and I raced to the elevator to meet him. The doors opened after a short ride down to the lobby and my eyes landed on him standing by the front door. He smiled and I headed towards him, a grin forming on my lips.

"Hi," I greeted and kissed his cheek. He looked confused and I laughed. "I'm sorry. It's a force of habit, I guess. We always kiss in England."

He chuckled. "It's fine. I won't complain." His arm gestured to the door and we walked out side by side. "Are you nervous?"

I shrugged. "I'm not sure. I think I'm a lot of things right now; nervous, restless, antsy..."

"I was too on my first day. It seems intimidating, but it's really not," he assured. "Just loosen up a bit."

My unsettled mind was roaring with untamed thoughts, but I tried to relax a little. "Thank you so much for letting me come with you today. I would probably get lost anyway in this city."

"I only live a few blocks down. You don't have to thank me. I pass here anyway to get to the subway."

"It's still appreciated, though."

His lips turned up into a smile and I followed him the rest of the way to the subway. At least I was familiar with one thing in this city. I'd ridden on Subway trains back at home, so this was nothing new to me. In fact, it reminded me of England and was a sort of calming incentive to be familiar with SOMETHING.

After a torturously long ride on the train (at least it seemed like an eternity to me), we stepped off and walked several blocks down the claustrophobic New York streets. We approached an enormous building and I began to wonder if this was our stop.

"There it is," Mason said pointing to the skyscraper that my eyes had already been studying. My heart thumped hard against my chest and I felt like I could faint at any second.

I received a text from Rita and couldn't help but giggle at her message: HAVE A GREAT FIRST DAY, BABY. I MISS YOU SO MUCH ALREADY AND I LOVE YOU. DON'T GET INTO TROUBLE AND DON'T BLOW IT. THIS IS AN OPPORTUNITY OF A LIFETIME. MAKE IT HAPPEN AND MAKE ME PROUD. XXXX.

I texted her back a quick "Thank you" and "I love you, too".

Mason lead the way to the front doors of the building and I anxiously followed close behind. We both had to check in and I had to get registered into the system before I could go any further. Once it was completed, the lady at the front desk welcomed me to the crew and wished me a good first day, which only added to my bubbly mood.

"So where are we going now?" I asked as we stepped into the elevator. He pressed floor number 48 out of the 70 floors that occupied the building and the elevator shifted upwards.

"We're going to our floor."

"Really?" I asked. "Who all is on our floor?"

"Most of the writers for the TV show are on that floor so we can all collaborate on things and talk things through and whatnot."
