*Zayn’s POV*

I heard banging on the door of my hotel room, but couldn’t find the strength to get up.  My alarm clock had gone off at least twenty minutes ago, but I shut it off and laid in the same position I laid in all night; me on my side, facing the window and the rest of the city outside.  I watched last night’s storm brew violently and listened to the rain pelt the windows.  I had stayed up for hours upon hours watching it fade out as the sun made its appearance in the sky in the morning.  I knew I didn’t fall asleep at all last night, so I knew today I would be tired and the whole day would be a drag.  I didn’t want to go anywhere or do anything.  I wanted to stay in my bed for the rest of the day and wallow in self-pity.

“Zayn!” Paul yelled from the opposite side of the door.  I didn’t even flinch at his angry tone.  “Open the door right now!  I know you can hear me!”

After several minutes of him trying to get me out, the ruckus stopped.  Thank God, I thought to myself and I relaxed at the thought of finally being left alone.  That is, until I heard a click and then I heard the handle of my door being turned.  I mentally sighed and resorted to closing my eyes.

“I don’t want to talk to you, Paul,” I said tiredly.

“I’m not Paul,” Niall said.  I opened my eyes and turned over to face him.  “Why the hell are you ignoring us?  You were supposed to be up a half hour ago!  We have stuff to do today, in case you forgot!”

I shrank away from his voice.  “Please stop yelling.  I don’t like it when people yell.  And I’m not getting up unless you can physically drag me out of bed and downstairs yourself.”

“I can get Paul and Preston in here and they sure as hell will get you up,” Niall threatened.

“How did you even get in?” I asked, my suspicion getting the better of me.

“The receptionist in the lobby gave me another key because I went down and asked for one.  You’re lucky it's me in here right now.  Everyone else is fuming.”

“Sorry,” I said, not so apologetically.

“What’s your deal?” he asked me.  “We get it that you like to sleep a lot, but you’re being ridiculous right now.”

“I didn’t sleep at all last night, actually.”

He sounded confused.  “Why not?  You came to your room before all of us.  You would have gotten the most sleep!”

“Because Camille broke up with me.”

He sucked in a sharp breath and remained quiet for a long time.  “No she didn’t,” he said disbelievingly.

I nodded and cleared my throat because without it, I was afraid it would close up and I wouldn’t be able to speak.  “Yeah, she did.”

Niall sat down on the bed next to me, but I continued to stare out the window.  If I had actually planned to get any sleep at all last night, I would have closed the curtains so the sunlight couldn’t get it.

“Why?  Why would she do that to you?  It was our first concert and everything.  How could she do that?”

I rolled onto my back and rubbed my temples.  By the look on his face, he was speechless.  “I don’t know.  She said she didn’t think it was going to work for either of us while she’s there and I’m all over the place touring.  We’d be going months without seeing each other and I guess she didn’t want to hold me back.”
