I shut the book and groaned, placing my head on top of the book. "I give up..." I grumbled.
"What? Already? Steph, we're just thirty minutes into tutoring and you already give up? Okay then, I guess I'll just tell yhe principal to shred your diploma." Dylan said nonchalantly.
I lifted my head and glared at him. "We spent one hour in detention, I'm already tired."
He scoffed. "One hour doing nothing, that's what makes you tired--doing nothing!" He exclaimed whilst checking his phone.
I suddenly got annoyed knowing well why he was checking. "Did your lover text back yet?" I said with venom in my tone.
Dylan looked up from his phone and raised an eyebrow, I can see him hiding a smirk. "Who? Hailey?"
I rolled my eyes at his teasing tone. "Who else?" I said, annoyed.
"Well, she's not my lover since there's no such thing as forever." He teased.
I snorted, how lovely of me, and raised an eyebrow. "There is such thing as forever--forever alone."
He shrugged. "Not everything lasts forever, things change and so can people. Feelings can change, personalities as well. Nothing lasts forever, you'll never realized what you had until it's gone."
"So you're saying you and Hailey might not last forever?" I asked, curious to what he meant.
He chuckled. "I'm no fortune teller." He said vaguely when the doorbell rang.
I got up from the desk chair. "Must be the food, I'll go get it." I said, Dylan nodded and went to the bathroom.
I ran downstairs as the doorbell rang once more. "Coming! Coming! Jeez!" I exclaimed as I swung open the door. "No need to get your--" I stopped when I saw the man standing in front of me.
The man did not look right for his age, he had brown hair and a chisled face with a sharp jaw line. He looks to be in his twenties but judging by the few grey streals of hair, he must be in his late forties. His brown hair was swept back and his eyes held a familiar but more harsh shade of blue. Something looked familiar about this man but I can't seem to put my finger on it. "Um...yes?" I asked.
The man raised an eyebrow. "And who are you, lovely lady?" He asked politely with teasing in his tone.
"Uh..."I looked at the stairs then back at him. "Stephanie Coleman," then a slowly added. "Are you the pizza guy? Because you seem a bit overdressed for a delivery." I observed his tailored and finely pressed suit.
He let out a deep chuckle but I sense a slight twinge of annoyance in it. "Why would a pizza delivery guy wear such expensive clothing when he couldn't even afford one in the first place?" He asked rhetorically.
I heard pounding footsteps from the stairs. "Steph," Dulan called whilst coming down, "is the pizza ready 'cause I am--" he froze when he spotted the man and his playful expression slip from his face. "Not hungry anymore..." he finished.
I looked between him and the man and turned to Dylan. "Mind telling me if you know him?" I asked.
Dylan glared at the visitor by the door. "What the hell do you want, William?" He growled.
The man scoffed as I gave a baffled look towards both men. The man cleared his throat and gave Dylan a warning look. "Is that anyway to talk to your father?"
Dylan stretched out his hands in emphasis. "How am I suppoed to know when I never even had one in the first place?" He bit out.
Mr. Reed just laughed at Dylan's sharp comeback. "And yet you still wonder why I disowned you in the first place."
