"What does it feel like?"
AV, Skye and I turned to look at Rusty who's sitting on the farthest lounge chair to the left because of his question. Hindi nito inalis ang tingin sa view ng lawa sa harap niya at nagpaliwanag.
"What I mean is, you're at the point of no return," he said.
I know that question is for me kaya binalik ko ang tingin sa harap namin kung saan kita ang lawa. I felt Skye and AV staring, waiting for my answer.
"That question depends on the person," I said, sipping on my mug of coffee. "But for me, I can't wait to get over that point."
Kasalukuyan kaming nasa isang deck, having our coffee while just relaxing with the beautiful view of Lake Geneva in front of us. The view is so beautiful in the morning that me and my siblings can sit with each other for a long time and not say anything, or even bicker for the first hour we're here.
"Aren't you scared?" tanong naman ni Skye.
We're all talking with our coffee in hand while our eyes never leave the view of the sky above the lake.
"Of what?" I asked. "The whole marriage?"
"Everything. Like, do you ask yourself if you're good enough?"
"Always." I pursed my lips into a smile. "Because unlike him, I don't think I've done enough to have this."
"I don't think that's the point though," says AV. "Love isn't really a competition of who does the most. You don't do it para makalamang. You do it because you love them."
"Hmm... Poetic." I gave AV a look. "I love that."
He just smiled and shrugged as an acknowledgement.
"But what does it really feel like?" asked Rusty again. "You know, marriage."
"I'm not married yet," sagot ko.
I saw him roll his eyes at my sarcasm. "People say they change when they get married. I'm curious."
