Abigail gripped her messenger bag that sat on her shoulder as she stared up at the Seattle Grace Hospital. She took a deep breath before walking inside.
Abigail smiled when she saw a familiar face of Lexie Grey,whom she had met the night before at the mixer. "Hey Abigail." Lexie gleamed. "Hey,Lexie." Abigail said as they walked together to catch up with the other interns.
The interns walked into the locker room. "Do we get assigned lockers here or what?" A intern asked. "Dude,it stinks in here." Another intern said. "What do you want? It's a locker room." The intern commented.
"No,it's our locker room."
"Hey,look,bloody scrubs." The interns looked at the scrubs in awe before they noticed that another person was in the locker room. "Hi." The man said.
"Come on,you guy,let's, um,let's go check out the cafeteria." An intern said as they walked out beside Abigail and Lexie. "Hey." Lexie said. "Hi." The overdressed man said. "We're the new interns." Abigail mentioned.
"Yeah." The guy nodded. "Well,you look seasoned and wise. Um... Do you have any advice?" Lexie asked. "No." The guy shook his head. The girls nodded. "Learn how to do an appendectomy start to finish before your first day. " He said
Lexie chuckled. "You're leaving?" Abigail asked. " Yeah. " The guy said. "Better offer?" Lexie asked. "Just,uh... you know,life."
"Yeah." Lexie nodded. "Anyway,uh,good luck with...life,doctor..." Abigail said,unsure of his actual name. "My name is George." George held his hand on. "I'm Abigail Kepner." Abigail shook his hand.
"I'm Lexie. Lexie Grey. " Lexie said, making George look at her as the two girls left the locker room.

Abigail placed her stethoscope around her neck, "What resident are you assigned to?" Abigail asked. "Uh,Yang." Lexie said. "Me too." Abigail said as they walked towards their resident.
"I have five rules. Memorize them. Rule number one - don't bother sucking up. I already hate you. That's not gonna change. " Cristina Yang said. "Trauma protocols, phote lists, pagers. The nurse will page you. You answer every page at a run - a run. That's rule number two." Cristina told the interns as they grabbed the items on the counter before rushing after Cristina.
"Your first shift starts now and lasts 36 hours. You're grunts, nobodies, bottom of the surgical food chain, You run labs, you write orders, you work every second night until you drop, and don't complain." Cristina said
