Breakfast anyone?

At dad's Chessie had made all of Hallie's favorite dishes. It was a big hearty breakfast. Nothing that Annie would eat. Ok kids most important meal of the day breakfast. Eggs sunny side up bacon with a side of toast and in case you're really hungry a pile of humungous chocolate chip pancakes. Which do smell incredible if I do say so myself. She said and patted Jason on the back as he began to dig right in. Annie told her thanks but wouldn't eat. You're not hungry again? She asked her. Last night you hardly touched your chili your favorite food in the world and now you don't want breakfast? More for me. Thanks Chessie. She smacked his hand away. Let her eat first she playfully scolded him. Trust me there is enough to go around.

Are you sick honey? She asked her. I'm fine she claimed. Then asked where dad was. She said he and little miss I'll just have half a grapefruit took off an hour ago you overslept and dad didn't wanna wake you. Ok have at it Jason she *sighed* at least I know you'll eat I'd be more concerned if you weren't eating you and Hal eat us out of house and home when you stay with us though I don't blame you a teenage boy has got to eat. What do they give you guys to eat out there at camp? Of course I would probably oversleep too if I were also up at midnight making mysterious phone calls in the bathroom. She said oh that I was calling my friend from camp Mildred. She said she lived in NY. Oh I see you wanted to wait till it was a good time for her because of the time difference. Yep Annie agreed. I'm sure Farrah and Jason do it all the time since he lives in Canada and she goes to and from here and London.

So you waited until it was 3am her time to call her? She asked. She felt that made perfect sense. Annie said it was 7pm here time she lives in NY but she was in vacation in Bora Bora. Nice save Jason mouthed at her. While Chessie wasn't sure she was buying this. Ok smarty pants your father wants to see you in his office as soon as you guys are done with your breakfast. He does? Great she said as they dug in. I'm done she said as she bit her toast and got down from the seat. I'll meet you in there Hal Jason said I'm gonna finish as much of this as I can until my stomach hurts. But then Sammy kept barking at her. She felt the dog had gotten so weird. But he still went up to Jason like normal. See ya later Jason thanks again for breakfast Chessie it was great. Then she tried to open the door and tried to pull she reminded Annie is was push. Right I knew that. Dad was glad she was there because he wanted to talk to her about something.

He told her it was something really important. She said it was funny because she wanted to talk to him about something really important too. They were at the vineyard now Jason was with them at this point again. He trailed close behind. Dad told Hallie to go first she said no you first. He said he wanted to talk about Meredith. And I wanna talk to you about my mother she told him. Then asked what about Meredith. What about your mother? He asked her. She said she was almost 12 how long do you want me to keep believing that the stork dropped me off especially since I already have an older sister? He *sighed* it was obvious he didn't wanna talk about this. He said they had talked about our mother and she sounded just like me. Not really and a girl needs more in her life than half a torn photograph. Farrah at least gets a full one and she gets to go back and forth and see you both.

Dad I'm almost a teenager I need a mother. She told him. They went through the door dad was agreeing. Saying she did need a mother. Which brings me to.... Then saw Meredith driving a golf cart talking to someone. Hello Hal Jason. She greeted them like old friends. This is my assistant Richard. Richard this is Nick and his daughter Hallie and his eldest daughter's boyfriend Jason. The girls I've been telling you so much about she said through grit teeth. Hi there he greeted them both. Did you tell her? She asked dad. Almost dad said. She said if they were free later they could meet up on the terrace and hang out and have lunch together. Actually I promised Hal we would hang out together this afternoon and that Jason was more than welcome to tag along he is my guest after all. She said no problem that they had plenty to do then they got back on the golf cart. She said she was working on the new label design and it was featuring him and he was gonna love it.

See ya at dinner darling she told our dad. Bye Jason bye Hal. Bye they smiled and waved back at her. She said the first change she gonna make was sending the both of us off to boarding school. Next they were riding horses through the vineyard Annie and Jason road on hers and mine dad had his own as they raced down. This was always one of my favorite things to do with dad when I was at the vineyard race through it and back and forth to the house and Jason too when he was there. Come on dad Annie cheered. Until they got to a stop. Ok ok you guys win give that horse a rest she teased. Whoa sprout Annie said as Jason stopped mine as well and they all came to a stop to talk. Dad told Jason there was something he had to talk to Hallie about and to meet them back at the house. Jason gave Annie a look and she nodded at him and so he went back. So honey are you excited about our camping trip? Farrah's coming back for it you me Farrah and Jason. What camping trip? She asked him.

Dad was surprised at hearing this. The one we take at the end of every summer before school starts he reminded her. Oh yeah sure I can't wait. She said. So Hal what do you think of Meredith? He asked her. As what dad? She asked. Your publicist your friend. No I just mean what do you think of her as a person? Well she's cute she's got nice hair good teeth. But she could also had been talking about a horse for all we knew. She can spell the word you she teased. But honestly dad she's a complete stranger to me. To Farrah too. Why do you want my opinion anyways? And shouldn't we be getting Farrah's as well? Well I already asked her what she thought she felt the same way but didn't have one since she goes back and forth. She said believe it or not.... Then she cut him off to say she'd race him back at the ranch. Hal?! I'm trying to tell you something! He called after her racing off. Dad was out of ear shot. She passed Jason who hadn't gotten far. Annie what's wrong? He called after her. Slow dad said after them but once she got back she got off and started running. Jason ran with her. Annie? He asked again. You're freaked. Not now Jason please I need a min to think she told him through rushed breath and we need to call Hallie and Farrah. She finally caught her breath as she slowed down when she got back to the house but when she thought she was alone Chessie was there and Jason caught up to her. They didn't know she was there.
