Together at last

It's me or them take your pick

So there we were climbing up and down rocks trying to get to the campsite. One girl in front the rest of us in the middle Mer struggling one girl in back. So what now? Jason whispered to me as he held my hand. We have to get rid of her I muttered. We still have time I still have a plan and the girls and I still don't like her and vice versa. And at this rate it will take all those 3 days to get down to the campsite. So what plans do you have up your sleeve? He asked me a teasing tone in his voice. Oh you know typical camp pranks. Such as? Oh IDK rocks in the pillow case bugs in her water sleeping a more grown up prank if I could get my hands on some sleeping pills and ship her off on her bed into the middle of the lake. Stuff like that.

Oh so early Annie and Hallie pranks? Who do you think they got it from? Mer sat on a rock while one of the girls picked up a rock a smile on her face. She said she was gonna kill her trainer because he told her she was in such good shape. She couldn't believe we actually did this kind of thing for fun. One of the girls the same one that picked up the rock looks for more smaller rocks while dad tells us to hold on and the other girl in front repeats what I said about how the hike down to the lake would take 3 days at this rate. While dad reminded us this wasn't her thing. Dad walked on telling us to chill turned his back while the girls and Jason and I stayed with our new hopefully not soon to be step mother.

She asks for her water after the rocks are placed in her bag and when we see the little lizard the same one that had the rocks picks up the lizard puts him on the water bottle and hands it to her. She starts to drink her water but then the lizard spokes her and she screams falling off the rock she was on tossing her water to the side. Dad turns back around as the girls pick up the lizard saying it was on her water bottle. She told her to put it down when she told our dad she'd be ok and to keep going. Said to get it away from her that she hated things that crawled. She said she she would put it down and then put it on her head and we moved on. We walked ahead of her. Kids? Dad started. What?! We all in sync. He said he was gonna take the lead. Wanted us to help Meredith.

But she gave us evil looks and said that of course we'd help off a cliff maybe. She didn't trust us and she had every right not to she shouldn't. The girls and I whispered with Jason about how that seemed like a good idea wondered if anyone saw any cliffs?! She then wondered why he bag was so heavy. We followed in front of her and told her that we thought she had something on her head and then she felt her head in fear and felt the lizard that was on her water and screamed and then it crawled into her mouth. But just before that we offered her our help which didn't want and said that she saw past all our angelic little faces said she knew I was the ring leader. She promised if there were anymore tricks from any of us that she would make our lives miserable from the time that she says "I do". As if she hadn't already.

Got it? She asked before turning around. Got it Cruella. Nothing nothing not a thing we promised her before muttering it again and that was when we told her about the lizard. She spit it out and started coughing and crying dad came back he asked what happened she point a finger in our direction and we appeared behind him. Asking we did we lied and told him we had been right behind him the whole time. As we acted all innocent what lovely great actresses we had ladies and gentleman! ;) That night we set up the tents right by the lake and made a camp fire. We sat on logs and cooked our food. Mer had a blanket wrapped around her and when we offered her fish she said no thank she didn't eat Trout and would wait till breakfast before asking what we were having we all in perfect sync told her trout. Though I'd packed my own food because I don't eat fish either.

Only when the girls asked her she called her mom asked if she was ok with us calling us that. She told us no that your mother probably wouldn't like us doing that and stick to Meredith. Dad said it was part of the experience the eating the fish unless you think ahead and pack your own food like I did because this was the part I didn't like. I wasn't really a camping in a tent person either or an outdoor animal but I somehow survived at camp. She asked what the other part was asked if it was being eaten alive by bugs and used this little water bottle thing and then dad asked what she was using she gave it to him and he sait was nothing but sugar and water asked where she got it because it would attract the mosquitoes. She turned and looked at us while we minded our own business before she threw off her blanket said she was taking one large sleeping pill and going to bed.

She then took sticks and knocked them together and when we laughed at her and asked what she was doing she said she didn't want the mountain lions to.... Before cutting herself off and asking about how there weren't any mountain lions were there and we told her no. Before acting like a pick me girl and trying to act all sexy for our dad in front of us before telling him goodnight. And she had looked right at us before marching up to him and doing that. Once she was gone dad turned to look at us girls I'm telling you lay off he finished with a look at me while I held my hands in mock defense. I hadn't actually done any of it well not anything except thought about it. He told us that this wasn't her thing and said he wasn't marrying her just because she was Annie Oakley. We all asked who that was (because I have no idea who that is either) but he didn't answer us he just told us to cool it.

In the dead of the night we 4 snuck out of our tent and into dad's we dragged her sleeping pilled body on her mattress hoping it actually worked and slowly and quietly put it into the water of the lake sweet dreams mommy dearest the girls smiled and waved as she drifted off and then we went back to the tent and went back to sleep when morning came she woke up to birds pecking at her and jumped up and screamed for our dad he groaned said oh no then turned to us we knew we were in trouble and had probably just maybe gone too far this time. She fell off her bed and into the water and marched back to shore soaked and then gave him an ultimatum. What's going on?! Dad asked her. I'll tell you what's going on buddy! The day we get married I ship those brats off to Switzerland! Get the picture? It's them or me! Take your pick! As if dad would choose her over us.

Them he smiled back at us while we silently cheered grins on our faces as if we'd won the war as if we didn't know our father would pick us over his sugar baby. Excuse me?! She asked him clearly disappointed in his choice. T-H-E-M them get the picture?! He asked her a grin on his face as she screamed and huffed and walked away. Where she is now we'll never know. We packed up and drove off in the jeeps mom came out asked where Meredith was and if we had fun. Though we told her we wouldn't go right to fun. You wouldn't she asked us. We've been punished till the end of the century the twins told her as we all got out of the jeeps. Dad said starting now. We took our stuff and went in the house. She asked about Meredith. The girls said we pulled some harmless pranks on her and she freaked out a little. A little dad asked us as we went inside?! He didn't see it that way.

And mom was in trouble too like mother like daughters because while it was no hairdryer she threw a ring at his head probably mom's if he was giving her a knowing smirk as well. We had been back so soon and hadn't expected us back this early. Mom tried not to grin as she placed a hand on one of the girl's shoulder a hand over her own mouth she said it was all her fault if she hadn't suggested she go.... He grinned cutting her off saying tricked would be the better word. She said she was sorry but it was hard to believe she really meant it. We all apologized and he grinned and sent us to our rooms. I gotta remember to thank them one day dad smiled back at mom as he descended the stairs. Soon enough he asked where Chessie was mom said she and Martin took off together on Thursday. Who would've thought?
