We (outfit 3) were all very dressed up and we had made sure our parents were as well. And of course they wanted to know where they were going. Didn't want anymore surprises. But I still had ideas up my sleeve my parents were gonna fall into love and get their happily ever after even if it killed me. And it was going good so far they loved the way the other was dressed. Mom pushing her hair to the side dad smiling her and complimenting her. Everything so far was smooth sailing. We told them where we were going they were gonna love it and they just were gonna have to try us on it. They asked each other whispering sweet nothings about whether or not either of them knew where we were taking them but both of them agreed not at all so they went along with it. Just as I had hoped so far so good. We 5 got into the car and drove to the pier until we got out in front of a boat.
Where are we? Our mother asked but we just looked at each other and we smiled. This is where we're eating? Dad asked. But not quite. No actually that is Hallie pointed at the boat in front of us on the water. She's ours for the night Annie exclaimed. But of course they had to know how they were paying for this. At first we tried to say we pooled in our allowances. Well they did anyways. Yeah right Annie. Ok so grandfather chipped in a bit as did Farrah and Jason. Annie?! Ok so they chipped in a lot. It was Farrah's plan to get us altogether this far. Money she gets from camp money from her jobs from her allowance Jason and his money whatever it is he gets paid. Come on you guys are gonna love it Hallie told them. And then we came to a door. A set of two doors. Elizabeth and Nick your dinner awaits in one room while Farrah and Jason your dinner awaits in the other.
The room was set up just like their date from the photos. Boat photos and a candle light dinner for two. They were a little confused by this the fact it was only set for two and that we had another room set up for our own dinner. Oh that's the other part of the surprise we're not joining you. The girls started. And Jason and I will be next door in the other room having our own date night. The girls will be playing waitress with Jason and I. But you won't be alone in here well you will but not the way you think. They were surprised we weren't joining them and then Chessie came out in a uniform with food while Martin also said he would be joining them as well with something to drink also in uniform. And they hoped they would not fire either of them for following the orders of two 11 year old's and two 15 year old's. And then the mood music came on and we wanted them to go back in time and drift off to "yester year'
Once we all left Chessie and Martin made sure mom and dad understood what it was we were trying to do here. Dad saw the life preserver with the Queen Elizabeth 1989 on the wall and they realized we were trying to recreate the night they met. The boat the music the help. They felt it was very sweet then sat down for a drink. And as they looked out at the water talking together it turned out neither of them had been on a boat since then. Well here's too well our daughters they toasted and Farrah's friend who she couldn't had done this without the help of though also could've found a way to do it all on her own. So to our daughters to love to her crazy plans. We all peeked in through the windows to watch and make sure things were going well until they saw us all watching and we hid again. And since it was the girls sat us down and we had our own dinner. The plan was on the right track like I said it was smooth sailing so far. Dad felt sometime when they were really alone they could talk about what happened between them.
He felt it was all a bit hazy now. That it ended so fast. Yet they have me going back and forth to them. And they remembered it started fast as well. He said that part he remembered clearly. Chessie and Martin saw things were heating up quite nicely. And when they pulled back they were nose to nose with each other. And couldn't get away from each other even if they wanted to which they did not. They actually quite liked each other. Mom felt dad had done well for himself how his dream for the vineyard came true. Dad asked about her how she was always drawing on napkins and newspapers and now she was a famous major designer who had apparently designed the dress his fiance was going to be wearing to their wedding. They felt it was great how their lives had gone where they wanted them to go and how well I was doing for myself. And they had to figure out what to about us girls. That I couldn't keep doing what I'm doing and they can't keep the girls apart now that they know about each other and it would be hard raising them here and there and everywhere. They suggested keeping them half the year and then half another year but Chessie agreed that was nuts and it was nuts what they were having me do as well and so expensive. So they suggested keeping us a whole year vs half a year but didn't seem any less crazier.
But that was the reason they came up the solution they did not that I wasn't living proof of how hard it's been so far. Though mom pointed out she thought it was because they never wanted to see each other again. Dad said not we while mom said that was a bit hazy to her over the years. Dad asked if she remembered the day she packed she said she remembered that day perfectly clear. And took me and Annie with her. Asked him if it hurt him when she threw that hairdryer at him he finished he felt he may not get another chance for this to be alone with her again like this. Asked why she did it. Mom said they were young and both had tempers. That they said stupid things and she packed. That she got on the first 747 and paused said he didn't come after her. That he didn't come after us. How did they decide who got which twin? Dad said he didn't know she wanted him to. Mom felt it didn't matter anymore but fate does crazy things because here they were the weekend of his wedding to the Cruella devil herself. So let's just put on a good face for the girls and get the show on the road shall we? Dad agreed thought it didn't sound like he wanted to. And what a lovely night they had had too bad it can't last forever. In the morning it was time to go home and switch back. I'd go home with dad and Jason would go back to Canada. And mom and dad would still never see each other again unless they had to. Not that my plan was over yet. I still had tricks up my sleeve until I got whatever it was I was after. My happily ever after.
