Together at last

You're not Annie? You're Hallie?

Where we were a tax came out of the printer it said 911 with a dog on the page. Too bad it wasn't me or Hallie that got the paper it was Martin. We were in the dinning room having a meal could've been anything lunch maybe. Martin held it behind his back as he came to fill up the drinks. Hallie asked for a sip of wine. I gave her a look. But mom handed it over and didn't think she was going to like it. But Hallie grew up with dad on the vinery and I go out there enough. But she knew exactly what to do. She swirled it around and smelled it. Before she took a sip. And after she smacked her lips and gave her opinion on the wine with full knowledge on the subject. Which surprised everyone and made me nervous. Of course she asked if she learned about wine out at summer camp. And then Martin passed by with the paper behind his back as Hallie and I leaned back in our chair to see what he was holding behind his back. This was not good we had to talk to Annie right away. But while I do this all the time Hallie fell out of her chair. I cringed. We looked at her. He had made sure that we saw what he was holding.

Darling are you ok? Mom asked. I guess I had one sip too many. You know mother I think Farrah and I could do with a bit of fresh air. Come on Farr's. Would it be ok if we stepped out for a moment? Do you want someone to go with you? No it's ok Farrah is coming with. I just feel a little bit woozy that's all. But as we walked out the door I heard grandpa ask about us feeling woozy as if he were onto us. We went outside and ran to the nearest phonebooth. Yes I'd like to place a collect call to America please she told the operator in a rushed fashion. Back at dad's Jason was with Annie as she paced back forth waiting for the phone to ring until it did and Jason sat close. What's up? We asked her. She told us she was desperate and that dad was getting married. Ok this was indeed a 911 call. But Hallie had no idea. I knew about the she witch I wasn't sure how I kept Hallie from her. What do you mean getting married?! She talked about black tie and the white gown you know a wedding.

What?! We both exclaimed. Yeah he's getting married in two weeks! She warned us. She let us know if there was any chance of us getting our parents back together we had to do it fast. And we both agreed. My plan was falling apart and I wouldn't let it which is exactly what I told them. Hallie told Annie we were going with mom to the theatre tonight as we talked I had the strangest feeling we were being watched or listened to. She told Annie we'd drop the bomb on mom first thing in the morning. Though that plan may need to be rushed. Ok thanks and Farrah Hallie hurry. You got it bye we told her. But when we exited the phonebooth we were caught red handed. Uh oh we said in sync. Uh oh is right young ladies. Now how about the 3 of us take a little stroll through the park because I have a feeling this was a Farrah scheme if I ever saw one. He wrapped an arm around her and grabbed my other hand as we slowly walked through the park. Now tell me what's all of this about? Well it's a long story we told him. Well it's a big park and we have plenty of time you know he reminded us. After all Farrah and I walk this park often especially when she's telling me a long story about one of her little schemes. So we told him everything.

And then he made us tell our mom. We went into her room curled up on either side of her. She was on the phone speaking French to someone. She told us to come in and that she had just finished a sketch and had faxed it off to Paris. Then she asked us about going out to have lunch. This was it now or never. But we didn't want to see her face when she learned the truth. We can't mom we're sorry but we have to go out of town today. Hallie said to her. She was confused by this as I bit my lip and felt guilty we were gonna be in so much trouble. She gave me this knowing look as if to ask what had I done this time. And where might I ask are you two going? Then we dropped down and had the covers over us as she shook at us and grabbed at us playfully as if this were a game almost nearly tickling us she was laughing while we were upset. Annie Farrah? And then her accent dropped. That's where we have to go we have to go see Annie. I see she grinned not understanding what we meant. And where might my Annie be? In Napa with her father Nick Parker and Farrah's boyfriend Jason. She admitted. Mom was so surprised.

She looked at the lump under the sheets and at our grandfather. He nodded his head he knew this was not one of my games. And then she pulled back the covers and looked at our sad puppy dog faces. You're not Annie? You're Hallie? That would be correct we said in sync coming clean. It was time to spill the beans. I told her how I told Jason I was so fed up of going back and forth being raised in two different places while my boyfriend lived in Canada so I only got to see him in person at camp or the weekend before camp when we met in the middle at his place. How I came up with this plan to talk the two of you into sending the girls to camp where you once sent me but make you think it was your idea and great minds think alike you and dad aren't so different. I wanted the girls to meet had been teaching them both French both poker both everything I knew made sure they were in my cabin and made sure they would "get in trouble." So that they could go to the isolation cabin and be stuck together while Jason and I made sure they would find out the truth. Yeah and Annie and I met at camp and agreed with Farrah and Jason agreed with the plan to make us meet and switch places. Hallie backed me up.

We're sorry but after all the stories Farrah would tell and only seeing her every so often and having so much in common because of Farrah until we found out we were twins I'd never seen you and I had dreamt about meeting you my whole life Annie felt the same way about dad so with Farrah and Jason's help each of them would come with us to keep the act going as long as possible and helped us switch lives. And we really hope you're not mad because Farrah loves you both so much and us as well and so do I. I love you so much Hallie was saying as I couldn't hold back my tears anymore and mom bit her lip trying not to cry. Before a tiny ghost of a smile appeared on her face through her shock and surprise she had expected things like this from me but never thought I'd go this far. And I just hope that you can love me one day as me and not as Annie. Hallie pleaded. And then she pulled us in to hug us as we laid our heads on her lap. Oh my darlings. I have loved you my whole life that was very smart and sneaky Farrah she ruffled/scrunched at my hair before running her hands down our backs and holding us tight.

From the doorway we looked up and saw Martin crying as grandfather closed the bedroom doors to give us some privacy. He had never been so happy in his entire life as we smiled at him and mom wiped my tears away. So I guess you're gonna have to switch us back now don't you? Well technically you belong to your dad and Annie belongs to me and Farrah we had longer together that she would remember us both so she goes back and forth acting/singing modeling. Though seeing her on a screen and not in person isn't the same I'm guessing. His and her kids? No offense mom but this arrangement really sucks especially with Farrah being torn right down the middle like the picture of you both Annie and I have while Farrah gets to have a full one. I agree it totally sucks. I was in the middle so they both were helping me wipe my tears away. Then I say we go to Napa see dad and work this whole thing out Hallie exclaimed. Now you're thinking like your big sister. And I say you're both right don't worry my darlings I'll take care of everything. You two don't worry she told us as we group hugged throwing our arms around each other.
