Hugo's POV:

I stood there, looking at Varian with worried eyes. I couldn't do anything. If I try anything, Varian will die, what do I do?

Varian: You're crazy.

Gunther: Yeah, but all the best people are crazy.

Gretchen: Gunther, let him go.

Gunther: NO! I'm going to kill him right in front of Hugo, so he'll see once he's gone, I'll be the only one left for him!

Gretchen: Ugh, Verdammte Hölle, you're so annoying.

Varian: You do realize if you kill me, Hugo will just leave you, right?

Yeah, that's true. But I'm going to make sure nothing happens to Varian.

Gunther: You don't get to just walk away from me Hugo.

I heard a chittering noise coming from the ceiling. I looked up to see Varian's raccoon, holding a small dagger in his paws. He lowered himself right above Gunther and dropped the dagger, right into his foot.

Gunther: WHAT THE FUCK! WHERE DID THAT COME FROM!?

Gunther let go of Varian so he could check his foot. Ha, suffer bitch. Varian ran up to me and hugged me tightly. The raccoon jumped down into Varian's hair like a cat.

Varian: Ruddiger, come here! Who's the best raccoon in the world? You are!

"Now let's get out of here, right now." I grabbed Varian's hand and ran for the door. Gretchen stayed behind for her brother.

Gunther: Don't let them get away!

Gretchen: Gun, just give it up.

Varian:  We're almost out of here. Just a little further.

I looked back to see if we were being chased when I tripped on a cloth. The cloth had a lantern sitting on it. It smashed onto the floor, causing the place to catch on fire. Shit.

Varian's POV:

Well, this isn't good. I grabbed Hugo's arm and dragged him to the exit, Ruddiger still sitting on my head. The fire spread quickly, hovering over our heads within seconds.

Hugo: Varian, I can hardly breathe.

"I know *cough*, I know, me too." Ruddiger jumped out of my hair and ran out the door in front of us, while I continued to drag Hugo across the floor. "Can you at least try to stand up? ...Hugo?" I looked down to see he was unconscious, most likely due to the lack of air. I tried to carry him, but my legs gave in, causing me to fall to the floor next to him. No, this can't be how it ends. This can't be it. I hugged Hugo tightly, never wanting to let go as the fire around us grew closer and closer. A small tear fell from my face. "I love you."

???: OH NO YOU DON'T!

I looked up to see Gretchen running through the fire, holding what looked like an unconscious Gunther. "G-Gretchen? What are you doing here?"

Gretchen: I'm not letting you die or Hugo die. Not today at least.

She pulled me up and put Hugo on her other shoulder. Wow, she is strong. We wobbled our way to the exit, the fire closing in on us. We're gonna make it, we're gonna make it, we're gonna make it. Right as we were about to get out, I felt something grab me by the collar. I got pulled back into the fire, only to see Gunther standing over me. He must've woken up. Gretchen and Hugo were out already, and I tried to get past Gunther, but he stood on my chest, putting all of his weight on me.

Gunther: You're not going anywhere, Varian.

Hey guys, I hope you enjoyed this chapter. I'm planning to release the final chapter tomorrow so it will be a special one. I'm fucking stressed about getting these out on time. BYE!!!
