Hi guys... I know it was mean to leave it off as a cliffhanger but the chapter was already pretty long and I was tired so... yeah. Anyways I hope you enjoyed the last chapter and I hope you'll enjoy this one too.
Varian's POV:
What. Was. THAT? We both stopped what we were doing.
"Could it be another bear?"
Hugo: That didn't sound like a bear... that sounded like a... person.
I didn't want to admit it but he was right. It definitely sounded more like a person. We both sat there, half naked, listening for anything.
???: Hello? I heard some voices over here before.
Why do I recognise that voice? I was snapped out of my thoughts when Hugo started to quickly redress himself and walked out of the tent. I was left in there, still wondering who that was. I quickly redressed myself too but before I walked out, I heard Hugo start speaking.
Hugo: Who are you?
I took a peak through the tent to see who it was and I almost had a heart attack. No freaking way... CASSANDRA???
I hopped out of the tent and practically ran up to her.
"CASS!"
Cassandra: V-Varian?!?!
I ran into her arms for a hug.
Hugo: Sooooooooooo... you two know eachother?
"Yeah, Cass is from Corona. I guess I haven't really mentioned too much have I?"
Hugo: No, not really. I'm Hugo.
Cassandra: I'm Cassandra.
They both shook hands but for some reason, Hugo gave Cassandra a suspicious look.
"What are you doing out here?"
Cassandra: I could ask you the same thing.
Hugo: No no no, you first.
Cassandra: Well, after the battle with Zhantiri in Corona, I decided to leave and try to find my true destiny. But for the past 2 years, I've actually made myself a bit of a life from travelling so much to the point where I don't think I could possibly settle down anywhere permanently. So I've just be exploring for the past 2 years.
"Cool. Wait... didn't you have a horse with you?"
Cassandra: Yeah, she's tied up to a tree.
Hugo: Mhm... well you two have a nice chat, I'm going to sleep.
Cassandra: Nice to meet you!
"I should probably head to bed too. We were actually sleeping when you showed up."
Cassandra: Together?
I felt my face heat up after she said that with a smirk.
Cassandra: Well then... goodnight, lover boy.
What did she say?!?! My face heated up straight away. I think I looked like a tomato.
"G-goodnight Cass."
She walked off into the bushes where I'm assuming her horse is, while I crawled back into the tent where Hugo was. Guess he really was tired. I huddled up next to him sleeping, trying to get comfortable. As I was slowly starting to drift off to sleep, he wrapped his arms around me and cuddled me. Maybe he does feel the same way... just maybe Varian.
