Chapter 16

Hi guys I hoped you enjoyed the last chapter and Cassandra's appearance too. I'm just gonna jump straight into the chapter... enjoy!

Hugo's POV:

I woke up with Varian in my arms, still fast asleep. What's her deal? Hm... maybe I'm just over thinking things. I got up and left the tent, letting Varian sleep. I went on a small walk in the forest and found Cassandra doing sword practice and quietly talking to herself.

Cassandra: Can't believe after 2 years I get to see Varian again... he definitely looks older. I wonder who that blonde guy is though?

Well, sorry but you ain't learnin' nothin' about me. I slowly walked up to her, standing next to her.

Cassandra: Oh, it's you...

"Yep, just me."

We both sat down in silence for a few minutes... it was kinda nice to be honest.

Cassandra: Who are you exactly?

"A friend of Varian's... you?"

Cassandra: Same actually... how did you two meet?

I sat there thinking of a short way of saying it.

"He was on a quest and met me during it... what about you? He seems really good with you, how did you two meet?"

Cassandra: I heard about him from someone else and they said he was a wizard or at the very least knew about magic so I took the princess there.

I stared at her blankly and busted out laughing.

"BHAHAHA... Varian? A wizard? *wheeze* wow."

Cassandra: Yeah, you should have seen his face when the princess said 'magic', he went all serious and said "MAGIC? I DO NOT WORK WITH... MAGIC!" he sounded like he wanted to kill us for saying that.

Guess she's not that bad after all... I can see why Varian likes her.

We chatted for another 10-15 minutes, we actually had a bit in common. She told me about this guy she tricked into thinking he tricked her by dating her. Pretty confusing if you ask me.

Cassandra: Now... tell me more about you, Hugo.

"Well, what do you want to know?"

Cassandra: Hmm... what's the deal between you and Varian?

I blushed, I didn't know what to say.

"He's a really good friend, that's all."

Cassandra: You're lying... I saw the way he looked at you, plus i heard everything last night too.

My face went bright red.

"E-everything?"

Cassandra: Everything... you love him, don't you?

"...yes"

Cassandra: What was that? 

"YES! Okay... I love him... so much."

Cassandra: I thought so... you know, he actually had a crush me once.

"Who?"

Cassandra: Varian... it was only small and even if he never said anything to me, it was still very obvious.

I didn't know Varian had a crush on someone else before me...I wonder if I was still his first kiss or  not...hm.

"Well I should probably go check on Varian. He's probably already woken up by now."

Cassandra: Yeah, I'll come with you.

We both stand up from the ground, Cassandra grabs her sword and we walk back to the camp. After a few minutes of walking and talking, we got to the camp but... something wasn't... right. The camp looked... deserted?

"Hello?"

Cassandra: Varian? VARIAN!?!?

I looked at the tent and he was gone.

Cassandra: LOOK!

I looked to see where she was pointing, it was a note.

"If you want him-"

Both: come and get him!

OOOOOOOO CLIFFHANGER yes I am evil. Also I am so sorry it's almost been like 2 months since the last chapter I've been so fricken busy. Also thank you SO MUCH for almost 4k reads. I really hoped you enjoyed this chapter and stay tuned for the next one in hopefully not 2 months. BYE!!!
