Thomas's POV:

All eyes were on me, but I didn't care about that, she had said my name, she KNEW my name. I didn't know what to do. I staggered back and broke the ring of gladers around the box. I tried to run away, but every time I tried I would come close to falling, so I kept up this stagger-walk, at least until I reached the deadheads. It was my new favourite place to hide and get away. It was always sort of dark in there, and birds would sing sweetly through the trees, and the soft breeze would wrap its arms around you in a comforting hug, and the little light that did shine through made the place feel slightly magical, like little fairies floating around. Something about it was just so peaceful, like everything was going to be okay in this messed up world. It seemed to say: 'Breathe, all things will come to pass, you can just sit here, letting yourself become one with the life around you'.

I couldn't though, all of my thoughts on this girl were rushing through my head, they were so loud, my head felt like it was about to explode. Before I knew it, I was on the ground writhing in pain, clutching my head. I squeezed my eyes shut, I could feel tears being squeezed out of my eyes, they just kept rolling down my face, I couldn't get them to stop. I could tell that my knees were bruised and scraped up from landing on them this harshly, but I didn't care. All I cared about was getting the noise out of my head. It was like a thick fog that trapped my from all sides, I couldn't get through it, and the noise that surrounded me was way worse, like a literal banshee going off inside my head. I was able to push myself against the wall in a sitting position, I shoved my head between my knees, hoping that would calm me down, but it didn't. I seemed to struggle like that for hours, until I heard a soft voice calling me,

"Tommy"! It spoke, "Tommy I know you're in here, where are you"?

I couldn't bring myself to call back to the boy, who had the unmistakable British accent that I loved so much. So I just sat there, knees bruised, tears streaming down my face, thoughts swirling, mind cloudy, in pain. Until I felt someone wrap their arms around me, a scent of strawberries and autumn, and grass filled my nose. I opened my eyes, and my head cleared for a moment so I could register who it was. Once I saw their fluffy blonde hair pressed against my shoulder, I knew immediately who it was. One of his hands were on my back, rubbing it softly, in a calming way, and the other was in my hair, going through it, testing it, stroking through it, playing with it as it seemed. I relaxed into the touch, glad that it was who I hoped it would be.

"Are you alright Tommy"? Newt asked, his head still on my shoulder.

"I-.....I don't know Newt, it's like my head is attacking me, I can't think, I can't see, my thoughts are racing, pounding inside my head, and it's so loud Newt, its so loud".

I pulled him closer, trying to be as close to him as possible, feeling more tears slip from my eyes, he always was able to calm me down, I don't know how he does it, he just has that effect on me. He tried to pull back, but I kept him there, I needed him there right now.

"Tommy". he said softly.

I knew what he meant, so I let him pull back. To my surprise, he didn't pull back all the way at all, he just moved back slightly. He looked at me, and I just looked back into his eyes, the ones filled with warmth and light, and golden flecks that seemed to dance around whenever he smiled. He took the hand going through my hair away, and brought it up to my face. He brushed the tears away, almost like he was encouraging them to stop, and they listened. Then he did something very unexpected, he moved up and leaned forward, pressing a soft kiss against my forehead. I was in shock, I didn't think Newt would do that. I could feel my face flushing. He tried to pull away fully, but I wouldn't let him.
