Hulloooo! welcome to chapter 12! Thanks for actually reading this, it makes me so happy! 😊 Sorry for not posting a lot, I am really trying. I will try to post whenever I can, so be on the lookout for new chapters. I sound like an add, my goodness. 🤦‍♀️ But yeah, so glad you're reading this, and now, onto Chapter 12 of Him & I!

Thomas's POV:

We all rounded the corner, the grievers took notice of us and barrelled straight towards us. They started picking off gladers one by one. There was so much screaming, both from the gladers and the grievers. I helped Minho and a few others throw one off of the side of the cliff, I only got a few milliseconds of rest, I used those to look around at everybody else. Teresa and Chuck were just trying to stay out of the way, Minho was panting next to me, I was surrounded my screams, but I couldn't find Newt. My head swivelled from side to side, but everywhere I looked I just couldn't find him.

"Thomas help" Chuck screamed.

I saw him and Teresa being cornered by a griever, it's claws and arms stretching ever closer to them. I grabbed a grumbling Minho and we made our way over there. A few other gladers branched off to help, The griever was just about to take the swing when my spear came squishing into its skull. It howled in pain, but I just kept thrusting the spear in more and more, until it came out of its jaw. I had fully leapt onto it, once my spear fully went through, it sagged and started to tip over. I jumped off of it just in time, It went over the side of the cliff, knocking two more grievers climbing up the walls in the process.

I went over to help Frypan, who was struggling with a griever along with a few others. As I made my way towards him, I caught a glint of something, I got a flashback to my dream-visions in those tech-infested rooms. I ran over to it, I was right, there was a rickety, old, keyboard that was attached to the wall. I had to type something into it for the door to open. I tried one combination, then two, then three, I just kept trying, but all of them were denied. I surveyed the surroundings of the keyboard. I looked underneath it and caught a glimpse of words, it was dark underneath it but I could still make them out.

'What is a maze? How do you solve it? What do you type?'

What is a maze? How do you solve it? What do you type? This was ridiculous, I don't know what that means, it makes no sense. Like, c'mon, who actually knows what that means. A sharp, quick pain in my back snapped me back into reality. I was bleeding heavily from a wound in my back, a griever was on top of me. My spear was just out of reach, I tried to grab it, but my arm was quickly pinned down by one of the grievers pointed claws. It hurt like the hell, I screamed, I cried out,

"MINHO! HELP ME! SOMEBODY HELP! ANYBODY!"

The griever on top of me opened its 'mouth' and roared in my face. It was just about to clamp its jaws around my head, I thought I was done for. Yet its weight shifted, it let go of my arm and I quickly set to grabbing my spear to help whoever it was fend of the griever. I drove the spear through the sickly griever's chest. I howled and staggered back, it oozed thick sludge from its wounds. I almost slipped in it along with the small puddle of blood the gash in my back had left on the floor. I helped push the griever off the other side, I took moment to breathe, I looked at the person who saved me. It was Winston. I had never really talked to him, but at that moment I felt nothing but but thanks for him.

"Thanks Winston" I panted, "You saved my life".

"No problem, but if we make it out of here, consider it even".

I nodded and got up.

I searched for Chuck, knowing that maybe I could keep him here because there weren't as many grievers here. I spotted him with Teresa, terrified, clutching her arm.
