Introduction:

My name is Kayleigh, I'm a 14 year old girl who lives in the Netherlands. My life was just as normal as any other. Wake up, go to school, make homework and sleep again. But one day my live changed catastrophically...

Story...

A hard humming sound moves through my room, which lets me sit straight up immidiately. Argh, the buzzer! I look at my digital clock, which is standing on a nightstand next to my bed. It's only half past six in the morning. I'm really tired and feel like staying home, but I can't. I have two tests and a presentation today. When I stand up I feel my legs shake like they're trying to make a milkshake of blood and bones. 'A few more days, summer vacation is almost going to start.' I keep saying to myself to feel better. Slowly I walk to the mirror, hanging on my bedroom door. It's dirty and full of fingerprints, but good enough to see myself.

When I'm downstairs there's no one in the living room. My father is working, my mother is sleeping, and my sister is studying for a test upstairs in her room. I turn on the television and put on some music from Fall Out Boy on youtube. For breakfast I eat some cereal, because I'm too lazy to make bread. Sitting on the couch I'm watching some of the clips of the songs I listen and think about being with my best friend. I can't imagine a life without her. She has always been there for me. We're together in class, so we meet every morning at her home to cycle to school together.

I look at the time again, now it's 7:35. I have to go in ten minutes, but my bag isn't ready yet! I run upstairs using hands and feet, because that's how I usually walk stairs. Although it's almost summer and I have the same schedule for almost a year, I still don't know which lessons I have. So I take my Chromebook and look on my schoolsite for the Schedule. French.. English.. Dutch.. Gymnastics.. While saying it I take my books and put in my schoolbag. I run downstairs again to open the backdoor, so I can take my bike from the shed...
