There's plenty of food there, enough to survive for a month. But there are zombies standing in front of the building, so we have to give up. We cannot fight against those creatures. We need to find something else...
"It's getting dark." I say. I hate to be outside when it's dark, especially now! Laura replies: "My house is close, we probably have some food for the night.." Jay nods, but his thoughts seem to be elsewhere. By Aiden ofcourse. His best friend just got killed today... My stomach hurts by the thought of Laura dying in front of me to safe my life. Jen is silent, just like always. But Emma also doesn't talk. One of our best friends just died, because of Sarah. But I can't blame her, she was scared...
We start walking again. We walk pass a street called 'Larixlaan'. Here used to be our primary school, but now it looks more like a horror house. All those innocent kids. They're dead... Small bodies, lying on the cold, hard ground, covered with a layer of blood.
"Watch out!" Jen yells.
A small infected kid starts running at us. Half his face is ripped of, and in his arms are deep cuts. Ryan takes out his knife and roars, in the hope to scare the little kid. But it seems like the zombie does not have any fears. He was just standing still, looking at us with hatred. We all take out our knives carefully, to not make any sudden movements.
But Ryan stept forward, ready to hit the kid with his sharp, wide knife, causing the kid to attack again. With big steps the zombie runs towards Ryans' frozen body. The kid jumps towards him in an attempt to bite, but Ryans' knife stabs right through his mouth. The zombie is dead, but the teeth of it are stuck in the arm of Ryan, who screams from the pain. He shakes his arm until the body of the dead kid releases.
"Ryan!" Sarah cries.
Ryan turnes around and stares at Sarah with teary eyes. "It.. It bit me..." He says incredulously, looking from Sarah to his arm, and back to Sarah. "He's infected, we need to get away from him!" I scream, but Sarah doesn't listen. She slowly walks towards Ryan.
"Sarah, get back!" Laura yells.
But it's too late. Ryan jumps towards Sarah and slams her to the ground. Laura and I run to them, and Laura's knife cleaves through the back of the infected body. He turns around and pushes her backwards, which makes me able to stab his face. Jen and Emma are watching how we repeatly cut the body of Ryan until he stops breathing.
When we're done, we see Sarah's motionless body lying on the ground with a pool of blood under her head.
Sarah and Ryan tragically died this day, and we're only with 5 left.
