To Step Brother

Dear brother,
Thank you for existing
Even though we are not blood-related.
Yet, you loved me as your own.
Cared about me and never left me alone.
Initially, I thought this was your plan and you were waiting for the perfect opportunity to strike back at me.
However, as I looked into your eyes, I realized that my suspicions were unfounded.
The warmth in your gaze was genuine.
I never felt this way about my own family.
I never knew warmth existed.
I never knew what it was like to be loved unconditionally.
Until I met you.

There were times when I thought that this happiness was temporary and that everything would be taken from me.
I even questioned whether I deserved to be happy, especially considering the harm that my family had caused you.
However, as time passed, I began to accept that this love was real and that I was worthy of it.
I liked you
I also liked the people you were surrounded by.
They were pleasant and kind to me.

I am happy that you were the last person I saw before closing my eyes.It was comforting to know that I was surrounded by people who loved me and cared for me until the very end.
