Clack. He closed the box.

Blitz has been at this for a better part of an hour. He would open the box and gaze upon the beautiful stone that sat within it, but everytime his nerves got the better of him and he was forced to close it. Every time the Asmodean Crystal would bathe his office in a comforting orange glow, before it was eventually snuffed out, and replaced with a suffocating darkness.

A long time ago Blitz would have been thrilled with the notion of what the crystal before him presented; unlimited access to the living world, sign him the fuck up! Not only could his business thrive, and could do so now legally, he could also use it to take regular jaunts up to the living world and gaze upon the most perfect and beautiful creatures of all time: horses. Now though...now though the crystal left him with nothing, but a hollow feeling in his chest.

The whole reason he never considered obtaining an Asmodean Crystal in the first place for his doorway into the living world, was the fact that not only were the frigging impossible to obtain, as you had to be personally presented or gifted one by King of Lust himself, Ozzie, but there was also fact that the crystals only worked for the people they were presented too; they bonded to the person it was meant for and often took the shape of their wants and desires. It was often why the crystals took the shape of various sex toys: they always had sex on the brain

No matter how many he stole them from unsuspecting succubi or incubi, he could never get the fucking thing to open a portal. He had thought of other ways of trying to use the crystal, but the logistics of trying to track down a lust demon that had a working crystal and threatening them with unimaginable pain before they eventually caved and opened a portal for them to go through proved to be a nightmare. Not to mention that only covered the trip to the living world and not the return trip back to Hell! If Blitz didn't have somebody actively in Hell threatening the lust demon they could be left stranded in the living world!

With the idea of using an Asmodean crystal thoroughly crushed, much like the dreams his father crushed, Blitz had to look elsewhere for a means to the living world. Thankfully he just so happened to remember a certain owl prince from his youth, with a special book that opened portals to anywhere.  The owl prince that laughed at his jokes, the owl prince who loved to read and told him the difference between frogs and toads, the owl prince who he played pirates with, the owl prince who he shared his dreams with: Stolas.

Goddam Stolas. He honestly didn't know what to think of the prince anymore. One minute he was the biggest horn dog you ever met and the next he was a gentle soul, showering Blitz with affection and cuddles, asking about his day while laughing at his corny jokes. The 180 in behavior often left Blitz's head spinning, wondering where exactly he stood with the prince. But it was in those soft moments, the ones where Stolas laughed at his jokes and asked about his day. The ones where his eyes went soft as he watched an excited Blitz talk about horses. The ones where they gushed about their daughters, that Blitz lost himself. All of that left a part of him feeling warm and tingly, while secretly hoping they could be something more.

Then Ozzies happened.

And all was laid barred.

Blitz would never be anything more than a booty call for the horny bird.
