AIR RUSHED INTO ISLA'S LUNGS ONCE SHE REACHED THE SURFACE. She leaned back and allowed her body to float up so that she could stare up at the morning sky. The summer sun baked her skin, but the chilly ocean water spread over it and cooled it. It was quiet, the only sound being the waves crashing into the shore and the distant yelling of fishermen.

Isla loved the ocean. It allowed her to feel like she was washing her sins away. It brought her a feeling of peace before she had to return to her life of tributes and mentoring.

The Angler woman had won the 70th Hunger Games when she was sixteen. Since then, she was required to Mentor the new tributes from her district. However, her former mentor and one of her only friends in the world volunteered to come with her and help her out, which she was very grateful for.

This year was the 75th Hunger Games, which meant that it was the Quarter Quell. The Quarter Quell always had a twist when doing the Reaping. It could be twice as many tributes or all girls, but Isla was trying to not pay attention to all of that and take a break before she had to head back.

She swam for a couple more hours before going back to the shore. Once she got home, she took a shower and got changed before walking over to the house next door where Finnick lived. They were going to watch President Snow's announcement of the Quarter Quell twist together.
