ISLA AND FINNICK WERE SITTING IN THEIR SUITE SIDE BY SIDE. Her head was leaned on his should, and his arm was around her, rubbing her shoulder comfortingly because in an hour or two, they would be out there, in that arena where anything could happen. By that time the next day, one of them could be gone, if not both. As much as the Odair man said that was going to happen, he couldn't promise it, he couldn't make sure that it was definitely not going to happen. She whispered, "I'm scared, Finnick."

"Me too," he responded, and they enjoyed the silence for a while. They had convinced Colin to go chat up some Capitol girls and give them some time to talk because that was the thing about the Capitol — there was no peace, no silence ever. The sounds of the city and the people were everywhere, and there was no escape.

They got pretty close to peace then, though. They were enjoying each others company before the constant paranoia that the games brought. She thought about Annie and Mags and how she did not get to say goodbye to them, how Finnick did not get to say goodbye to his fiancée. She thought about what would happen to the poor woman if Finnick did not make it out of there. The games had taken so much from her already, and now, they could possibly be taking away the one person that kept her grounded. Isla sighed, "What's going to happen?"

"I don't know," he breathed out. Despite how enraged everyone was that they were putting a pregnant girl in the games, especially the Girl on Fire, Capitol favorite, there was no way that Snow as cancelling the games. They were putting a teen mom in the arena with the baby's father, and only one of them can make it out this time. Either the baby dies or grows up without a father. "They're not canceling the games, so we're going to have to go in there and fight like hell. You, me, Johanna, and Lexa. We got this."
