Ciara's POV- Wednesday night
After finishing yet four more chapters of my ordered book, A Long Way Down, I close the book and getting up from my vanity chair there's a knock at my door, and I opened it to see my dad. " Hey, Dad. Did you need anything? I was just finishing up some homework." I said with a smile.
He smiles back at me . " I actually came up here to tell you that Marissa and her dad are here wanna. Wanna come down and say hi? It's been a long while since I last saw them."
I nodded, turning off my light and closing my door. I followed my dad downstairs to see Marissa and her dad waiting at the door. " Sorry I had to go get kiddo here. Did you guys find the place okay?." Nicholas asked.
Tyler nodded, smiling. " We found it pretty easily. It's not too far from where my sister lives." He says as they walked into the living room.
Nicholas goes to the kitchen. " You a drinker Tyler? Kiddo why don't you show Marissa here your room and keep your door open." Nicholas said handing Tyler a beer.
I laughed off my dad's comment, even though he's being sarcastic yet serious. I led Marissa upstairs to my room, unlocking the door and switched on the lights. "Welcome to my casa. I've gotten pretty adjusted to my room. But what made you decide to come over?" I asked, closing the door behind her.
Marissa took her backpack and coat, placing it at the edge of my bed. She admired the posters and framed pictures on my vanity. " It looks beautiful in here. I might've let it slip to my dad that I needed to do a English literature project with you, but we both know that was a lie. I wanted to see." She says with a slight smirk, getting up and leaning against my vanity.
I smiled as my cheeks turned bright red, I put my hand on top of hers. " I missed you too, but We can't. The door has to stay open; my dad has ears like a cat."
Marissa lets out a playful sigh, Before noticing a slightly cracked framed picture of me, my mom and dad on the vanity. it looks like an old family photo from a Christmas card photoshoot. She picked it up. "Why is this one cracked, matter a fact, I don't see any photos of your mom downstairs either.' she asked furrowing her eyebrows.
