"Bite your tongue, Evyaan," she said, her tone tinged with anger. It was the first time I'd seen her like this, and oddly enough, even in her frustration, she looked adorable.

She then directed Kiaan to do the same, and he complied without hesitation.
"Evyaan," she addressed me, her gaze stern.

"Okay, ma'am," I replied, obediently biting my tongue. Her approving smile and nod somehow made the scolding feel worth it.

"So, let's go over the rules again. No matter what happens, the three of us stick together. I know we don't have another female companion, but you can freely confide in me if needed—I understand most things," I explained, turning to Samayara.

A pink tint bloomed on her wheatish skin, like flowers unfolding.

"Okay," she smiled shyly.

"Done with your speech?" Kiaan interjected, unable to contain his excitement.

"Samayara, I don't know about him, but with me, you're in the best hands," he said, taking her hand with a smug grin, clearly trying to get under my skin.

My fists clenched, but I kept my cool, resisting the urge to put him in his place.
Samayara responded with a high-five—first to Kiaan, then to me. Her small, delicate palms felt incredibly soft against mine.

"Oh, I forgot to mention the most important thing," I added, noticing their waning attention.

"Let's have a lot of fun!" I declared, and their enthusiasm instantly reignited.

"So, how are we feeling?" Kiaan asked with the same enthusiasm, even after two hours of trekking.

"Great!" Samayara exclaimed, matching his energy.

As we strolled beside her, filming videos while Kiaan snapped photos from every possible angle, I found myself unintentionally photobombing most of them.

"Take it from this angle," Kiaan instructed, adjusting the camera while still holding Samayara's hand. Seeing her struggle to follow the instructions made me uneasy, so I gently took the camera from her.

We took numerous pictures together and captured several solo shots of Kiaan. And I might've photobombed a few of them to mess with him.

"Let's take a break," Kiaan suggested, spotting a group resting under a nearby tree. I glanced at Samayara, who nodded in agreement.

"Sure, but not for too long," I replied. We sat down and refreshed ourselves with some water. Kiaan then offered us coffee cookies.

"These are delicious. Where did you get them?" Samayara asked, taking another bite.

"My dad owns Malhotra Grandeur," he said casually, as if it were no big deal. Samayara's face flushed with astonishment and intrigue, her eyes wide.
