We're heading back to the resort as the evening rolls in. Yesterday was chaos, and today's not shaping up to be any better. I got kicked out of my own tent—thanks to my so-called best friend, who ditched us to play house with his newly proposed girlfriend.

Now I'm stuck crashing with Samrudh and Aakib. Not exactly the dream lineup for peace and sleep.

Kiaan's been rubbing it in nonstop, acting like he's the only guy in love on Earth. Which is hilarious coming from someone who's dated half the population.

But in his words, "Dating and being in a relationship are two very different things."

I didn't argue—mostly because if I had to hear one more sentimental Isha story, my fist might "accidentally" land on his perfect face.

The only reason I haven't told him to shut it is because Myra and the girls eat up every word he says. Like they haven't already heard Isha's side a hundred times.

Not that I was eavesdropping, but I happened to overhear them raving about it. Prii even said it sounds more magical when Kiaan tells it.

So here I am, playing nice while my best friend and his great love reenact their fairytale—leaving out all the ugly parts, obviously.

Kiaan's never been a fan of revisiting his mistakes. Not that it stops him from talking about them in front of us.

"I didn't know Malhotra could talk this much," Aakib groans, looking as fed up as the rest of us. We're practically hostages here, thanks to Eve insisting we all bond.

"Didn't he complain about it being cringe—being in love and saying it out loud too?" Samrudh grunts, shaking his head. "I'm starting to think he's lost it. He's been acting strange lately."

"I know, right?" Aakib grumbles. "This morning, some girl asked him to pass the juice at breakfast, and he said, 'I have a girlfriend.' I swear, Evyaan, if he pulls that again, I'm out." He sighed.

"Why the hell are you telling me?" I shoot back. "I did not sign up for this."

"Thank God you didn't," Samrudh chuckles, only to get a sharp elbow from Evaana. Aakib straightens up and clams up as soon as he sees her glare.

"Just shoot me if you ever catch me acting like that over a girl," Aakib mutters.

"Yeah, same here," Samrudh mumbles, earning themselves another glare from Eve.

"Kiaan Malhotra wins again!" The crowd roared as Kiaan claimed another arm-wrestling victory.

"We can trust him with this, I guess," Aakib said, watching the match intently.

Kiaan had insisted on representing our group alone, and he was holding his own. He's strong, no question about it—but his next opponent is someone we all dislike. At least, I thought we did.
