Chapter 20

Vittoria woke up in the afternoon. There were some pills kept on her bedside. She took them and threw them in the bin at the end of the room.

After a quick shower and getting dressed, Vittoria headed out to the living room, it was raining heavily.

To her Surprise, Ada was in the Kitchen, along with Claire, when she walked in, they were talking about something, laughing at something Claire said. 

"Oh you're up! Come on Claire has made some fantastic soup!" Ada came and guided her to the couch.

"How're you feeling?" Ada whispered as she sat beside her.

"I'll be good, it's just a mild fever." Vittoria said as she smiled.

"No I mean, emotionally, Damien told me." Ada added, as she saw the confused frown on Vittoria.

"Oh. Not so great, where's Nickolas?" Vittoria asked.

"He's gone for a meeting, said he'll be back in a few hours, he didn't want to leave you alone so he called me." Ada informed.

"Oh," Vittoria said, and after a pause she spoke, "he's not telling me anything, Ada."

Ada's eyes softened. "Try to speak to him, when you're both not angry, and just in case, you need a place to crash, mine's always open to you."

Vittoria smiled, "thank you, Ada." She felt emotional all of a sudden.

"Oh by the way, if you want, I made your favourite cookies day before yesterday, knock yourself out." Vittoria said, as she chuckled, seeing Ada hop to the Kitchen like a kid.

She walked out with a jar full of cookies and Claire followed her, with soup for Vittoria.

They both sat huddled, it was raining heavily outside, but Vittoria and Ada, sat in peace for now.

"By the way, when did you start speaking to Damien?" Vittoria asked.

Ada's cheeks flustered, "huh?"

Vittoria's raised an eyebrow as she tried to hide a smirk.

"Well... we just got talking in one of your's events a few weeks ago, you know, just..." Ada shrugged.

Vittoria shrugged too, "yes sure"

"What?" Ada questioned, blushing hard.

"What? I said yes." Vittoria said, trying to hold In laughter.

"Oh get lost!" Ada said,as she chuckled.

Vittoria laughed out loud, "someone has a crush!"

Ada shook her head, as she covered her face.

"Well, thanks for letting me know, I'll play my Cupid duties to the max." Vittoria said.

"No!" Ada said but she was still blushing.

"Damn, you really really do like him!" Vittoria said with a smile.

She had never thought about Ada and Damien together, but the more she thought about it, the more she realised, that they would've make a beautiful couple.

Fingers crossed, she said a prayer in her mind for them.

Love was a fleeting thing, but when you have it, you should hold on to it, you should treasure it, love was fleeting, but it is precious, it was a culmination of all the things we could never say to anyone, but then we meet this one person, and suddenly it's not so hard to voice everything you thought was embarrassing about yourself. Your every quirk that you hid, was now loved by someone else, openly. You learnt how to be patient not only with this other person, but you learnt patience for yourself. And slowly you forgave yourself, and slowly you were moulded, and you loved and were loved and for the first time, that was enough. And so for people finding love, go dance in the rain, laugh your heart out, dont change yourself to match the likes of someone else, for one day when you're dancing, you'll find someone you matches your Rhythm.
