They say love the ones who love you,
But what if you end up falling
For someone else instead of them?
What if you never saw
The one who loved you
'Cause you were too busy
Pleasing the one you love
And who never loved you?
What if remembrances of the past
Echo within you when it's long gone?
And it becomes part of your insecurities
That because you broke so many hearts,
That's why your heart has been getting broken
All the time?
Oh dear! Just wait,
Do not let these thoughts decide your worth,
Or tell you that you deserve less!
It's okay that you'll break someone's heart
And someone will break yours,
And that's how the world goes on!
Then why not take it as an opportunity
To love your own self?
To know that you didn't belong to any of them.
Maybe there's someone else for you
Whose inner soul at the end
Remains like you.
Oh dear, life has given you so many pangs,
But it's all right.
You know you can treat yourself right,
You can provide yourself with everything you dreamt of.
And sometimes when it's hollow and lonely,
Provide that love to the needy ones,
Who don't drain your positivity;
Instead, they will provide you
The better energy to deal with it all.
