A/N I'm sorry that I havn't updated this story for a while but I have been really really busy these past few weeks but now it's the summer holidays so I have loads of free time. I'm just angry at myself because I had written this chapter a week ago and had it ready to publish but I didn't save it :/ so I have been putting rewriting it for a while. Anyway here is the next chapter.
Tate
I was fuming!
How could Vivien do such a horrible thing to Violet. I can understand why she would be angry with me after what happened in the past. However there was no need for her to treat Violet like that. Yes she may have felt hurt that her daughter took me back with open arms, but she made my sweetie Violet cry.
My strong independent Violet, who would never take shit from anyone and would tell you where to shove it if you got on her wrong side. Yet just a few moments ago her small fragile frame was buried deep into my chest and she was crying into my chest, broken. The last time I had seen her like that was when we broke up or the time that she swallowed those bottles of pills. I rarely see my beloved Violet cry but when I do it makes me think of all those sad times when Violet and I were on the edge of collapsing.
I need to do something to cheer her up. I know that Violet's mother would never come to accept me as being Violet's boyfriend once again. I have come to realise this, Violet and I have struggled in our lives. We have struggled with depression, with the war ground that is our mind, with our family and with people who have surrounded us. Even when we were together and we were happy and finally felt loved by someone I had to go and fuck it all up. Violet and I might face loads of obstacles on our future together but as long as I have her by my side at each step I don't mind at all.
And because of this I know I have to do all that I possibly can do to make her happy. Both of her parents might not approve of me but at least one of her parents hasn't chosen to disown her because she is dating me. I think it's time that I build my bridges with Ben. He may refuse to talk to me but I must try in order to make my Violet happy.
I need to find Ben immediately.
It would be nice if the three of us could play a game of cards together or if we could all watch a movie. Something that we could all talk and bond about and then I'll use my amazing charming skills and my sweet Violet would smile just a little brighter.
Roaming around the brightly lighted corridors I slowly made my way down the stairway and found myself standing outside Ben's study. The dark wooden door was closed and I slowly knocked my knuckles on it. Somehow this all seems familiar and it takes me back to a few months ago when I first warned Ben about Hayden's evil plots.
The calm voice of Ben rings out from the other side of the door.
"Come in"
My hands begin to get sweaty as I feel a bundle of nerves building up inside of me. I gently tug down the door handle and push the door slowly into the dragon's lair.
I'm extremely worried that Ben is not going to take me seeing him too well and that he will end up punching me or something like that. For Violet's sake I really don't want to make him hate me anymore than he already does, but that feels like I'm putting too much pressure on myself to get along with him.
Casting all these faults out of my head as I take a small few steps into the room I see Ben sitting on his desk his eyes bolted on to my position next to the door.
"What can I do for you today Tate?"
I stood slightly taken aback by his sudden outburst of cheerfulness. I walked further and further into his room before taking a seat at the opposite of his desk.
"Um ....... well I was just wondering"
I looked down at my hands that were on my lap and began to play around with my fingernails. I don't know why I have become such a nervous wreck all of a sudden. Tate Langdon used to be a brave outspoken little shit stirrer and now I'm acting like a lost puppy.
"Come on Tate spit it out"
I looked up at Ben and noticed that he was sitting forward in his chair leaning towards me. I could see that he was burning to know what I was about saying. Taken a deep breath I begin to blurt out the reason why I had came here.
"I thought that if you, violet and I did something together it might cheer her up a bit because she seemed crushed after Vivien disowned her. I just hate seeing Violet so broken and I think that maybe you participating in some activity with us would cheer her up"
He leant back in his chair a smile shining on his face. I looked at him waiting for an answer to my proposition and then he began laughing. A deep warm hearty sound. I looked at him intensly wondering why he found this situation so funny.
"Tate of course I'll help you cheer her up. From what you looked like when entering my office I thought we were going to be talking about something serious not you inviting me to something"
He looked at me a massive smile on his face and I couldn't help but also feel a bit like an idiot to the way I was so nervous asking Ben if he wanted to do something with Violet and I. His smile was contagious as soon I was smiling.
"Thanks Ben"
I beam as I stand up and begin to walk out of the room planning exactly what we should all do together. Before I left the room I heard Ben mutter something gently under his breath.
"No thank you Tate. This means more to me then you think"
