— in which lee chan falls for his pretty english tutor; slowly but surely
GRAMMAR
l. chan"ARE YOU KIDDING ME?"
you cursed under your breath. it was the first day of your last year of high school. your last first day, and he was late. class was about to start and everybody had already chosen their seats. mark was lucky that he had you, but you were about to strip away his gummy privileges, where he'd steal from your candy stash during class every time. you've turned down countless of your classmates who asked if the seat beside you was occupied, yet the spot still remained empty.
the bell rang, and on behalf of your best friend, you were praying your homeroom teacher entered late. but your luck was never that good.
the classroom door opened to reveal your teacher almost immediately after the bell rang. it was official, mark lee was dead.
a boy followed after your teacher, but instead of light brown hair and a sheepish smile, an unfamiliar boy with jet-black hair and an unreadable expression entered the classroom with a firm grip on his bag.
"alright, class. we have a new student. please introduce yourself."
the boy with dark hair and a mullet in question stood with his hands behind his back as he walked in. his lips pursed at the class awkwardly, as if he was up for display while whispers began. anyone could tell that the boy was attractive right off the bat.
you weren't even really paying attention to the new kid, actually, that was a lie. you could barely take your eyes off him, but you were also too busy worrying about when mark would get here, and if it wasn't soon, both of you wouldn't sit together for an entire semester, maybe the entirety of your last year.
"hello, my name is lee chan. i transferred from school of performing arts in seoul and i want to be a dancer who performs on stage. please take care of me."
the class clapped and excitedly welcomed the new kid before your homeroom teacher told chan he could sit next to you. chan's eyes hovered over to you, who hadn't even been looking at him. he frowned.
"don't worry, she's our top student, so i'm sure she can show you around and tell you everything about our school, right y/n?" your homeroom teacher coughed aggressively in an attempt of getting your attention.
too focused on waiting for the moment that mark would walk in your classroom, your head snapped up from the door of your classroom to your teacher, who glared at you. you faked a smile before nodding aggressively, making chan tilt his head at you in worry.
"fuck me." you whispered, glancing at your watch. mark was going to have to sit a few rows behind you, the only vacant spot.
"that's an interesting thing to say to someone you just met."
you grimaced as you looked up at the amused boy beside you, forgetting for just a second that he had already sat down beside you.
"sorry, i just.."
a loud bang sounded throughout the classroom as the class door opened, revealing a boy panting on the other side.
"nice of you to join us today, mark. you're late." your teacher smiled through her clenched teeth, giving a glare to mark yet maintaining her cool; she didn't want the new kid to see her flip out on the first day, you could only assume.
