— in where seokmin and y/n get lost in the forest during a school camping trip and are the only ones who have each others back.

STICKS & STONES

BEING SENIORS, school trips didn't come as often as they used to back in junior year, but since the major examinations had just finished, and all the seniors had left to do was to wait for their results to come back, whether good or bad.

a small group of seniors had already stopped coming to school, while most of the batch that were more involved in school activities began their final orders as seniors, the presidents of clubs electing their replacements, the yearbook committee wrapping up the last few photoshoots left, seniors planning events out like prom, the returning of textbooks and leaving their mark in unique ways, some of which were extremely stupid, like how your best friend seokmin had carved both of your initials under the teacher's desk in your classroom.

you would say you had a good run. being co-president of the dance club along with soonyoung, being part of the prom committee and in the running for valedictorian was no easy feat. even seokmin seemed to have a lot on his plate as the assistant editor of the senior yearbook and president of the drama club. he had just done his very last show last week, performing something to do with king arthur. you might not have known the lore behind it but all you knew was that he was pretty damn good.

nonetheless, the teachers took it upon themselves to organize a senior camping trip. the amount of people who signed up were a little less than half the year, but that seemed better in your opinion. it seemed more like glamping the more you heard about it from your teachers about how they rented those fancy, huge tents and even have a set camping spot ready.

the morning of the trip, you got there early with your eyelids only half open, there to accompany seokmin who was in charge of gathering all the students into their busses.

"can you check if all the students in the first bus are there?" seokmin nudged you, handing you a list that contained students names and which bus they were assigned to, which was all voluntary of course. you rubbed your eyes and shook your head. "don't talk to me, i can't think right now."

"um, miss valedictorian, i think even on 2 hours of sleep you would still remember how to count." seokmin raised his eyebrows at you in amusement as you shot a glare at him for his snarky remark. with the roll of your eyes accompanied with a slight grin, you counted the students in the first bus. once both busses were completely filled with students, you and seokmin returned to your seats, giving the green light to the few teachers who would be accompanying the students during the 2 day trip.

the bus ride to the campsite was everything chaotic and especially loud. the students were buzzing with excitement, weirdly amused at the idea of camping out in the woods together. seokmin, seated next to you in the back was easily the loudest out of them all. he nudged you every few seconds, showing you what he brought in the humongous backpack he pulled up to school with.

seokmin excitedly pulled snacks and games from his bag. it seemed as if he was prepared enough to host his own party. "look at this spread!" he said with pride, presenting bags of chips and all things unhealthy, together with a lunchbox you can only assume contained some of the pizza from his favourite restaurant that he told you he ordered yesterday. "i brought enough for the two of us, your welcome."

"how many stomachs do you think the two of us have?" you mumbled off, your eyes widening at the sight of all the snacks your best friend managed to squeeze into his bag, almost concerned at the risks of diabetes or kidney stones that you could get from this secret stash of his alone.
