Chapter Twelve The Barbecue Season 1, Episode 2 "I thought I was better." ====================================
Jade and Jordan walk into the living room with their coats. "Dad's going to take us to the fortess today. Going to run some tests to see what powers we have or will have or whatever." Jordan tells Jonathan, who was sat on the couch. "Can you imagine if we can fly?" "No, not really." Jonathan says, clearly upset about something. "Hey, J, what's up?" Jade asks. "Nothing." Jonathan tells her. "What Sarah said about the playbook, what happened?" Jordan asks. "I mean, I didn't get it and now I have it, so it's cool." Jonahan replies. "Gia, Jordan. You guys, ready?" Clark asks. "Yeah." Jordan says. The two walk over to Clark before saying goodbye then heading out.

By the time Jade, Jordan and Clark had been to the fortress and come back, they had learned that while Jade cell's show she is becoming stronger everyday, Jordan on the other hand didn't even have a 100th of Clark's strength. "Just leave me alone." Jordan says, as the trio walk into the house. "Jordan!" Clark says. "I'm not going to the Cushings." Jordan replies. "What happened at the fortress?" Lois asks, as Jordan stands at the bottom of the stairs. "Guess we found out what I always knew, I'm not special." Jordan says. "Jordan it is a process. We will go back, we will test you again and see how you progress over time." Clark says. "Yeah." Jordan says, unconvinced. "Maybe he should just stay home." Clark suggests. "What? Why?" Jonathan asks, coming down the stairs. "Baby have another bad day?" "Boys..." Clark says, sensing what was about to happen. "No! I am sick of your crap, Okay, Jordan? This is not just about you." Jonathan snaps. "I got the shaft." "Woah,woah, woah. What does that mean?" Clark asks. "It means Don Draper over here kissed Sarah at the bonfire party. So now, her boyfriend and the entire team are out to get me." Jonathan shouts. "That's why you didn't get the playbook?" Jordan asks. "Yeah, genius. I guess super-preception isn't one of your powers." Jonathan says. "Okay, okay. You know what? Jonathan, you and I can go out front, we can run plays." Clark suggets. "No, babe, not right now." Lois tells Clark, before turning to Jonathan "Listen, sweetie, I am sorry about the playbook, that really sucks. And I'm sorry going to the fortress didn't meet your expectations. You're probably so disappointed. But now's not the time to wallowin everything that's gone wrong since we came here. We moved here to be closer as a family. And we got invited to this dinner as a family, and we are going as a family. So get dressed." "Where's Jade?" Jonathan asks, causing Lois to look beside her to where Jade was just stood. "She was just here." Lois says, looking around. "Crap." Jonathan says, rushing down the stairs and out the door. "Jade!"
The Kent family were rushing around the farm trying to find Jade. Jonathan runs to the door of the barn, as he gets there he sees Jade in the croner having a panic attack. "Mom! Dad!" Jonathan shouts, before rushing over to his sister. "Hey, hey. It's okay. Breath with me okay. Slowly. In, out. In out." "J, I... I can't breath." Jade stutters. "Listen to me, okay. Listen. You're okay. I promise you, okay. Just copy my breathing, okay?" Jonathan says, as their parents and Jordan rush into the barn. Jade viciously shakes her head, tears streaming down her face, as the breathing rapidly increases. "Jade, honey, it's mom." Lois says, kneeling down infront of Jade, beside Jonathan. Lois the grabs Jade's hand and Jonathan grabs his sisters other hand. "Listen to me, sweetie. You're okay. You're okay." "I... I'm scared." Jade admits. "I don't know what's going on." "It's okay, sweetheart. It's okay." Lois says. "Jordan, go get her medication." Clark tells Jordan, causing the teen to nod before running off. "We're with you, Gia. You're not alone." Jonathan reassures her, squeezing her hand. Jordan comes back with Jade's medication and a bottle of water and hands them to Lois. Lois get's one of the pills out and opens the bottle of water, handing both to Jade. The brunette places the pill onto her tounge, and has a sip of water, causing the pill to go down her throat. After a couple more minutes she calms down. Lois looks down into the pot of pills, to find a lot more then there should be. "There's at least two weeks worth of you medication then there should be." Lois says, handing the pot to Clark to have a look. "Have you not been taking your medication?" Clark asks, causing Jade to look down in shame. "How long?" "Three weeks." Jade says quietly, not daring to look up. "Why?" Lois asks. "I thought I was better." Jade says. "It's best if you stay home and get some sleep." Lois says standing up. "Mom." Jade says, hearing the disappointment in her moms voice. "Jade, you can't just not take your medication for three weeks and expect everything to be fine." Lois says,as Jonathan helps Jade to stand up. "I thought I was better!" Jade argues. "Go get some sleep. We'll tell everyone you aren't feeling very well." Lois says, before leaving the barn. Clark follows after Lois alongside Jordan. Jade looks beside her to Jonathan tears in her eyes. "J." Jade says, with a shaky voice. "Come here." Jonathan says, wrapping his arms tightly around his sister. "Let's get you to bed."

The Kent family, besides Jade, arrived at the Cushings Clark knocks on the door and Lana opens the door. "You made it." Lana says. "Sorry we're late." Clark says. "That's fine. Where's Jade?" Lana asks. "She's not very well." Lois answers. "Oh well, come on in." Lana says, before they all walk in. "I'm so glad you guys could come.I'm embarrassed I didn't have you over sooner."
Before long Jonathan and Jordan found themselves walking into the living room where the teenagers at the barbeque were. "Doug, you're cheating you can't..." Amelia says, before noticing Jonathan and Jordan. "Hey." "Hey." Jonathan replies with a smile, as he sits on the arm of the chair. "That's good. Thanks, Soph." Amelia tells Sophie, who was painting her toenails, whiel Addison did Sarah's. "Thank's, Addi." Sarah says, as Addison finishes her nails. "Heard you had another tough one today." Amelia says to Jonathan. "You hear about everything, huh?" Jonathan asks. "Well, I am known as Little Miss Popular around school. Not to mention, I am cheer captain." Amelia says. "Sean, was over earlier and he told us." Sarah adds. "If you don't mind me asking, what... what is it exactly you see in that guy?" Jonathan asks. "He can be really sweet." Sarah says. "Yeah, real sweet guy." Jonathan says, looking at Jordan, who was still stood up. "Espeically on the football field." "Okay, well, all that kissing stuff is going to die down pretty soon, so..." Sarah starts. "He should be mad at me, not Jon. I'm the one who did it." Jordan says. "Are you going to come to school anytime soon?" Sarah asks. "Hey, guys." Grayson says, entering the room. "Hey, Gray." Amelia says, as Grayson sits beside her, wrapping an arm around her shoulders. "You guys, back together or something?" Jonathan asks, causing Amelia to laugh. "He wishes." Amelia jokes, causing Grayson to roll his eyes. "Hey, you and Jade going to come to school anytime?" Grayson asks Jordan, unaware Sarah had already asked. "If our parents ever let us." Jordan says. "Why wouldn't they let you guys come to school?" Amelia asks. "They don't think we have control over our issues." Jordan says. "Thought we had it all figured out, but guess not." "Hey, talking about Jade, where is she?" Amelia asks. "She's not feeling to well." Jordan answers. "Again? Well, send her my best." Amelia tells the two. "We will. Thank you" Jonathan says. "You guys want some Barbecue?" Sarah asks. "Maybe in a bit." Jonathan answers. "Okay." Sarah says. Amelia, Sarah, Grayson, Addison and Sophie then leave.
Amelia was sat with Sarah, Addison, Sophie and Grayson at a table outside. They were all eating when Jonathan and Jordan come over with plates of food as well. "These seats taken?" Jonathan asks, pointing to the seats opposite Amelia and Sarah. "No. Your welcome to join us." Amelia answers. "Thanks." Jonathan says, sitting down oppostie Amelia as Jordan sits down opposite Sarah. "So... any news from Jade is she doing okay?" Sarah asks. "Our mom's trying to call her and my dad's gone back to check on her." Jordan answers. "We're probably going to get going soon though as we don't want to leave her on her own for too long." Jonathan adds. "You guys really are great brothers." Grayson says. "Thanks." Jonathan says. Amelia and Jonathan make eye contact as Addison and Sophie start rambling about school. Amelia sends Jonathan a small smile, which he returns before turning her attention back to her sister.
